Just a question. It seems in the first 2 weeks I couldn't keep them in stock, Now I can't give them away. It seems that the "decay" rate of the paint job is way too fast for people to bother
anyone else finding similar complaints?

Yes, it wears off so fast I don't even bother anymore and I can make the kits...

I bought one when they first came out. Won't buy any more. Not going to keep paying for something that wears off in two days.

I like them. Hardly anyone uses them so it's nice to have a white and blue swoop bike in amongst all those nasty brown/red ones. Besides, they're only 1k on gorath and that gets you 4 full uses, which is 8 days worth (assuming that "2 day decay" is true, I haven't really noticed).

My vendor keeps telling me to throw them in the river. She hasn't sold any for ages. There was a time (when I cared) when I kept reducing the price on these (both on my vendor and the bazaar) and they still didn't sell. Got to the point where it wasn't worth the effort to make them. I think if you are prepared to sell them for peanuts (melons?) maybe you'll shift some. I give em away to friends, but don't bother trying to market these anymore. I have my old stock up as token items with my vehicles.

lol ain't it great the devs make it temporoary so there is a market, then make it too temporary so no one is interested.
they really need to learn a thing or 2 about supply and demand, and durable goods.

Yep. It's a minor hassle to always have to redo it, and the benefits are so small, that it isn't worth the bother to me. No one I know bothers to use the kits anymore. I wonder, really, if they were permanent if they would be better. People would probably change the colors now and then, just for variety. And the knowledge that the new paint job would last until they wanted a change.

I sell about 3-4 a day for 2.5K a piece ... They are short lived ... but to be honest half of that is because of the vehicle repair trick people are doing ... i've found it vastly reduces how long the paint job lasts or makes it disappear completely.

I use them.
I think the decay rate is ridiculous and I have seen them for sale at too high a price (7-8k), but I make sure I always have reserve kits, so that I never have to drive any of my vehicles in that ugly default color shceme.
I would prefer to see them for sale by the crates.
I have found 8 use kits for 2k, singles and in a crate for equal value. That was on Tempest.
On Kauri, I haven't had to go looking for a while, I hope I can find a similar deal. 2k for 8 uses is worth it for me, although I absolutley think they should last a lot longer... even at that price.
As I'm not an artisan, how does that price seem to you, that are, for what's needed to make the kits?
And no, hardly anyone bothers to paint their vehicles, and that sucks. I don't blame them though, it is totally a design flaw by the devs.
I think garages should be more like merchant tents... artisan-owned mechanic/vending machines that you need to bring your bikes to for repair (less frequently) and paint touch ups. The credits would go to the artisan that owned the mechanic vendor.
I guess the reason they did it the other way was to create a money sink that doesn't go back to the players?
Don't know if my idea would be harmful though.
I refuse to drive an unpainted vehicle, but the current process is bad.

I wouldnt mind if I owned a garage and the money for repairs didnt come to me, it would just be cool to own and operate one. Or you could tax the garage like the city does but the tax goes to the artisan. Customization at garages would be really neat especially if they added content to it like a little spray paint droid to come out and paint or maintenance droids to fix vehicle.

Absolutely
I hope, in time, that is something they add.
And I agree, at the very least, garages should be placed and run by artisans, even if they don't recieve proffits from it. It shuld work similarly to the cantinas... actually I just figured that they did... so they don't?
