Well I got kinda tired of all the killing and healing with my Fencer/Doctor and decided to start a new character on another server and set out to become a crafter, hey I thought they made decent cash for once I can own a nice house with above average stuff in it. Boy was I wrong, I'm a 4,1,1,1 weaponsmith and have not sold a single item to date, no matter how cheap I've lowered the prices, hell it's hard just to give stuff away, there's such a flood from those blasted holocron grinders that it's impossible to make or sustain yourself as just a crafter,

I know a lot of people are gonna get angry, but I move to take holocrons out NOW or in the very very near future, the game is to stagnant right now, you can't start a new crafter cause you won't make any cash to buy resources so it takes a PAINFULLY long time to survey/sample the needed resources, and I don't want to give up hard earned skill points just for a change in pace in my gaming style

the holocron issue aside for the moment..because yes, they will be going soon enough.

at 4,1,1,1 weaponsmith you have very few experimentation points and you are selling to a crowd who have been online enough to know their weapons..4,1,1,1 is probably not giving you great results because of the limited experimentation you can put into them and so aren't selling for that reason. Lots of competition out there, selling substandard stuff now before you make master will make it harder for you to sell the good stuff later, people do remember crafters names

good luck

matter of fact its harder for any crafter to make decent cash then for fighters.

a crafter got to get tnns different resources, use lots for factory, harvesters, house and alot time to make it all, then use vendor or bazaar to sell the stuff (

as fighter i go simply to advanced planet and get like 25k per mission plus harvesed hides and bones to sell for godly prices up to 60cpu (yes thats crazy prices but some ppl wish to buy for that)

It's not that there are too many crafters, it's that your items don't compare. With just one level in experimentation, you are severly limited when it comes to crafting and experimentation. People pay the prices they do because they are willing to in order to get a superior weapon. If they see a poorly crafted Vibro Knuckler on your vendor, and they know they can spend just a few thousand more and get one that is really nice, they'll do it and have no reason to buy from you. Get crafting 4 before you worry about not selling anything. If you got to master weaponsmith, use good quality resouces, have your vendor in a high traffic area, and still cannot sell, I'd start blaming external influences.

Yep,

If you want to sell anything as you progress , the experimetation boxes are the first ones to get. I did this with my alt, as she rose in chef, and had no problem raising cash as needed.

Another thing is to harvest as many types of resources yourselfas you possibly can.. Even cheaply priced stuff at 3cpu can't beat the the ave .75cpu of self harvested resources.

Indeed. I refuse to buy resources.

Exp points are everything. Heck, VK's are only 8k for top of the line. Why would I want less? Unlike Architect, Weaponsmith probably can't really sell anything with novice.

Would you, the Weaponsmith, buy the BER3 Medium harvester I made with only 1 exp box filled? Which is why right then, I vowed to fill all the exp boxes, before taking anymore harvester boxes.

I can make a BER4 Harvestor as an artisan.

Weaponsmith and Armorsmith are two of the worst crafting professions for people who want to not grind. The way they are set up you pretty much have to grind to master in order to sell anything at all. aka DAoC. Other professions like Chef and Architect you can get around this if you are patient. As a novice chef I sold every item I made. Unfortunatly for SWG, most profs still have the grind to master issues of other MMORPGs.

Tailors are pretty lucky too since most people only want black and white for colors
