About purchasable weapon Powerup schematics from a Factional Recruiter?


Just an idea some Pistoleers had when I asked what they wanted in the GCW Revamp.


Ideally, these would be a little more effective than your average powerup. Otherwise, why bother? This could come in the form of being easier to customize functionality, raw effectiveness, reduced side effect of weapon decay, etc. Post your thoughts here, please.


Unlimited use? Limited use? How many? Faction point cost? Anything you can think of. I would like these to be somewhat readily obtainable. These are powerups, not lightsaber crystal-laced boxes of fission-fusion-fission.


Weaponsmiths don't make powerups, it's 100% Artisan, right? Should these follow that same guideline, or be Weaponsmith only?


Covert/Overt usable? They are factional equipment, but pretty much invisible. What makes the most sense?


Keep in mind this might never happen. We haven't even brought it up to the developers yet.

we pistoleers wanted an AP+1 powerup, but dang, that seems like it could be imbalancing...i dunno...


i do think it should probably be for weaponsmiths. the dev's dont like giving novice professions content

Personally, I loathe the very idea of the powerup. I'd rather not see them in the game at all. And I am a master artisan.\


What I'd rather see is "ammunition" for ranged weapons in the form of power packs and ammo clips. But I doubt anyone cares enough about continuity in this game to go with the idea.


So, no opinion.

I'm not an artisan, so my opinion might be void on this, but I'd ideally like to see these powerups created as something a bit more unique than standard powerups. The key differences being:


  • Unlimited Use (This won't hurt the economy much since they still are eliminated when removed or the gun decays.)

  • Slightly lower stats than high end normal power-ups

  • No effect on weapon decay (very slight effect at most)

  • Useable covert or Over, this is a mod that no one can readily see after all

  • Makes you more suceptible to being picked up on a contraband scan if you're a Rebel

  • More Complex and Cost more to create than standard power-ups

  • Faction Point cost of 500-1000 to compensate for

The key goal I would like to see here is that these would be treated more like permanent weapon mods that can be applied to guns, until you want to swap in a different types of mod, or put on a standard power-up. They would be something that could be thought of as more permanent additions to weapons that cost more than normal powerups, but last longer and don't come with the annoyance of having to be swapped in every 5 minutes.

Well i talked about it in the post under pistoler but i will post my ideas here to on this


Should should be under weaponsmith for starts.

1 sch can make a crate of 25 1000 uses each

a few ideas for power up's.

dif kinds of dmg types. If a gun is heat u can change it to cold or energy so on

power up acn get up to say 45% on dmgmin/max speed for pistolers

should cost about 5-10k faction for the sch

Maybe to use the power up u have tobe a master. so u cant just have say 0030 in pistoler to use them u have to be a master pistoler to use it on your guns.


just a few random thoughts.
