Thread: DE,AS,WS,AR.....? which to choose
With my retirement from BH i have made a choice to become one of the 4 choices from artisan Weapon-Armor Smith, Architect,Droid engineering. I have been pounding away at makeing bone armors and now have enough XP for armorsmith, but now for my question for you which do you think will be in then ear future/currently have good income/indemand....? I have been looking at architect and it seems to be the best in my mind what di yu think...?
Any comments will be gladly accepted...
I am also an Architect. Not near Master, and don't plan too. I have just picked up Weaponsmith, so I'm going to roll with it for a while.
I can buy a medium house for well below what i can make it for...... so whats the use? Right now, I'm just making myself and friends Medium and Heavy Harvesters. When the skill points get thin, Architect goes bye-bye.
There is a lot of competition in the Architect field. I talked to a guy on Kauri when I was buying some medium harvesters, and he said there were 9 MA's just on Kauri alone. With the number of new players slowing to a trickle, the demand for an architects's products is only going to get worse, I'm afraid.
Having said that, I am probably going to go down the Architect route. But I'm not planning on crafting for money. I'm a miner. I don't care that the dev's removed my profession...it's what I do. Climbing the Architect tree, for me, will be simply so I can make my own medium and heavy extractors. However, I'm not in any hurry. I'll buy from architects until I can make my own. And that's a long time off, I think.
This might change if I'm still around for the vehicle patch. Until then, I'll just splash around in the shallow end ![]()
Armorsmiths will have a hard time selling anything on an established server without technique 4. Expect to grind for a long time if you're an AS.
DE's need to grind up to R5 schematic and then you'll be ok. You can sell droids slowly but steadily. Get to the BH droids and get your items placed in a popular shop, you can make most of your funds selling these. Medical / crafting droids will also be worth selling until you can make some stronger probots.
Architect... depressing. Above all else you will have to make money on missions and start grinding up installations. Make your own mining facillities and until you get to large you might consider throwing them away when shifts occur. Try not to sell anything for under 2c per resource. Get 4c per if you can. Don't ever buy resources for too much or you'll go bankrupt (all other smiths can afford to pay a lot more for resources).
Like someone else mentioned the problem is that we are seeing a boom in Master elite proffessions but I dont think the amount of new players is increasing as fast.
From the position of the supplier I've noticed the items I used to sell for a profit decline almost at a weekly pace as more people become masters andstart selling these items. It also seems that at least for DE, since customization and expermentationdoesnt really matter its harder to compete with someone else who can make the exact same product.
From the position of the consumer it is nice because that 100k suit ofpadded armorthat I couldnt afford a few weeks ago is now only 28k (this is just one example).
Now my question is, is the economy balancing, or is it about to get to the point were people can run missions for cheaper than pursue a career in sales? So yes prices of products may come down and in turn resource prices will also be lowered but maintance fees, and power requirments
