Hello,
Can someone explain this to me. I'm a Wookee artisan and my friend is a Moncalamari artisan. My Wookee is also a Marksman and Scout. My Moncalamari artisan friend is also a Medic. My Moncalamari friend is higher inEngineering than me. When he makes a CDEF Pistol, the damage is like 17-35. When I make one the damage is 18-36. I don't know why I can make a higher damage pistol than he. The only thing I can think of is I've got the Marksman profession and within the Marksman profession I have the Intermediate Pistol skill and he doesn't. Is this the reason...or am I maybe using better Steel and Fiberplast to make the better weapon?
Thanks
Artuk

Ingredients make a difference. There is also a "random" factor.
However.. it looks like you should try experimentation. Even a novice artisan can make a better CDEF then that. Try making one while standing next to a weapon crafting station. You should be able to experiment on "damage" when the experiment dialog comes up, then make a prototype with much better damage.

I'm able to make a 27-55Dmg CDEF with Link Steel Aluminum and Experimentation.
