Thread: Experiment Points Impacted?
Greetings,
I am a Master Artisan. My original intent was Master Artisan on my way to Weaponsmith. I got to weaponsmith and the battle for resources, plus constant shifts on our server, had me retired fairly fast....a lot of grinding for nothing. It just seemed too much like work...and that is what I do in RL.
My question. I still make PowerUps and some other artisan items for folks. If I give up all of my Survey path and all of my Business path....do I still get the same amount of experimentation points?
From looking at the skill tree/paths I don't see any points gained via the two right side pathways for Master Artisan....Business and Survey. I don't even see any points added just for hitting Master either.
This would free up a fair amount of points for me to use elsewhere...and still let me craft things like PowerUps when needed. Since I don't need the Master Artisan as a stepping stone any longer does this seem feasable? I already have a vendor in place...so I don't need Business any longer unless I move...and I don't need Survey..I can purchase that information or hire someone to survey for me and then mail me the waypoints for harvestor placement.
Thanks for any comments. xDiggerx.

Look what this guy has to say about surrendering merchant / business skills and vendors. It's a message from two months ago, so maybe it has changed, but I'd be very careful.
Yeah, when I click on my Master Artisan skill area I see lots of schematics...but on Experimentation Points added.
So what this basically tells me is I can dump Business 1-4 and Survey 1-4, keeping Domestic Arts and Engineering, and still have the exact same experimentation points for Artisan that I have today as a Master?
This sure frees up a lot of points I need for other areas. The good thing is I probably have enough points in most of these areas to just relearn it if I dump something and it screws me up.
I think this skill point management thing is a bit tricky.....almost like managing the salary caps on these pro sports teams...they have experts called "Cap-olo-gists" so I am thinking we need skill point experts called Point-olo-gists!
