Im currently supplying my 20 mineral/ deep crust Heavies with Wind Power. i see my self going to bazaars andbuying a whole bunch of wind power every other week. Id like to mine my own power so that I dont have to depend on Bazaars stock. Id like to keep my heavies running at all times, so what kind of power mining do I need to do in order to keep my heavies going?I guess id like to know what type of power generators I need to drop and how many. Is there a calculator of some sort or does any experienced miner have any advice on powering a fleet of heavies? Thanks for the help

You want to get BER 13 fusion-ion generators....they harvest radioactives and the PE on the radioactives determines how much power it provides per unit...PE 0-500 = 1 unit of power PE 1000 = 2 units of power per unit...

Actually Fusions are BER14
just as an FYI

Something you may want to think about is using part of your Heavy Minerals to mine Radioactive until you have the money to purchase fusions.
The only downside is if they are static harvesters you may not get a good concentration but you can still mine it.
Hope that helps

I bought several used BER14 fusions one day and one of them turned out to be a BER16. I only paid 100K for it too.

I can run 27 heavies on one fusgen, I usually have 2 fusgens though just so I dont ever run out and every now and then I sell of the extra

Also, make sure you keep an eye out for the shipwright radioactive (I can't remember the name right off hand). It is usually easier to find a high concentration of it, and the spawns last for 17-18 days instead of 7-8, so there is less moving.

very nice. I have dropped 2 fusion generators in a 80% site and manam i getting a ton of power. My power problems seem to be solved. Is mining Power(radio) profitable?

It can be but be prepared to be bone dry quickly. I bought 8 fusions cause i found a good spot and figured hey i'll be spending 1 mil but i'll have more than 1 mil of resource. (you know u have a good position when u check swgcraft.com and the resource hasn't been registered yet
I'm not sure exactly where my thread is as it isn't bookmarked but if you're interested just click on my name and then the link to view all my posts. I know that I have some numbers in the thread, the art of crafting a buff - 101 (or something like that). I'm not sure what the thread is titled where i specifically wrote about resource harving. It has been quite a while since i wrote either of them.

Once I get my Heavy farm rolling smoothly, Ill need to dive into the economics of a mining business so that I can run it like a well oiled machine. Thank you all for the input. My Mining Farm is running alot smoother than it used to thanks to all of your help.

A number of people base price on the PE and not the unit of radioactive itself. Charging 1.5 cr per unit of Power, not Resource means that for a Radioactive with a PE of 1000, you would pay 3 cpu, while for a Radioactive of PE 500 or less you would pay 1.5 cpu.
If you are self supplying, Radioactives are the way to go. I dropped 8 Fusions (7 14 BER, 1 20 BER) on a 96%-94% site on the first day of the spawn and had over 2 million units of radioactve 14 days later. I figure I'm good for about 6 months unless I start pumping out missle packs again.

I am currently self supplying, but hopefully selling in the near future.I stocked a vendor near cnet with all of my harvests so far. The bad thing is thatmy alt just finished grinding master Arch. Went through 250k Gem stone and 500k Ore, depleting most of my stock. after I go through the tweaking my mining business Ill start looking into the benefits of outsourcing and manage projects that increase customer traffic/retention. I wonder if SWG has a Project Manager profession. lol.. This is starting to sound really like my RL job.
