Ok, I don't think any items ,like holocron splinters and what-not, have much to do with becoming FS. Jedi, perhaps, but not FS. It just doesn't make sense to me that someone who knows nothing of the force could use a holocron to magically become FS.Now then, there's this woman at the cantina in Mos Espa, Jiboo Ji, or something like that. She gives you a three part quest. First part, go rescue a slave from a few slavers, second part, rescue that slaves sister from a few slavers + a few more slavers, third part, destroy the slavers camp. Reward? 30 creds. That's it. Nothing else. When you finish this quest Jiboo praises you and says that she wishes there were more like you in the galaxy. After that she won't give you any more quests. If you talk to her she'll just say she's happy to see you and the two ex-slaves are doing fine. Now, considering the lack of a substantial reward here your only reason to do this quest and go through all this trouble is to do the right thing and rescue some poor little slave girls.

I think perhaps doing quests like these might be part of un-locking the FS slot. Jedi were the good guys after all and doing quests that have noreward besidesthe sake of doing what's right could perhapsmove some kindof invisible slider from mundane closer to FS. Thoughts?

If you speak with the Mayor of Mos Taike, you can be assigned about five different missions, some of them difficult (you have to go through hordes of enemies for at least three, and since I'm an Artisan, it was extremely hard). The reward? For some of the missions, nothing I believe. For others, 30 credits.

I've found a couple of quests like this on Naboo. For example Lt. Vana Sarge in Keren I believe asks you to go find a pilot that the gungans shot down and escort him back. Sadly, the npc has never been at the wapoint by the time I arrived. I've thought for awhile that npc quests might be a key to unlocking fs, but regardless of whether they are or not I still enjoy doing them. Just with more of them actually worked.

Yeah, alot of them have empty waypoints. I've found that If I log out, log back in and then take the quest again the waypoint will actually have something in it.

What I think the dev's need to include for us artisans is a way to adjust permissions of the hoppers while being away from the extractors. What I wanted to do was set up a courier service that I would pay a brave soul anywhere from 500 to 1000 credits to gather up all the resources from my extractors and have them delivered back to where I was staying. This way, I could spend more time crafting my materials and putting them on the market as opposed to trying to brave the great outdoors where jerks come after for no particular reason, then send you to the cloning station time after time.

Anyone else think this is a good idea?

When you say that jerks go after you for no apparent reason, do you mean NPC's or PC's?

mmm he has to mean NPCs.

a little story:

One time I was trying to get to my wind generator but got ambushed by Drall patriots (like 2 feet away from it no less). Needles to say I got slaughtered before I could run very far. So, I grab my clone and head back. Guess who was standing almost right on top of my body......yup the Drall. I did succeed In getting my stuff (the /corpse command was a God send) but no sooner had I pick my stuff up than he saw me and I was promptly taking another dirt nap.

I think I was killed 4 time before I successfully managed to get my stuff out of there, and never did I get near my wind gen. The Drall and his NPC "buddies" litterally set up a 360 degree perimeter around the area. This was on Starsider before the holiday Ebola virus struck. I could not get near my wind gen. for the entire weekend.

NPC's, namely hostile mobs. Last night, I couldn't get even 200m from my extractor because of a slew of hostile mobs. Irritated me. Plus, most artisans have very few combat skills, so it's harder for us to try to fend them off as we try to get to our supplies.

Scouts would be perfect couriers, since they can cover their scent and possibly remain hidden from them while they get to your extractor. But without actually physically being there, you can't allow that scout to access your hopper.

Since the devs insist on this certification thing, I say it should be something like this:

At any level a player can have a DZ-70, should have maybe 400 HAM and do 30-40 damage with attack speed of 2.5.

When you reach Novice level of any elite combat skill (Rifleman, Pistoleer, Pikeman, Tera Kasi, ect) you get cert for Probots. They should have around 1800 HAM and attack of 90-100 damage with speed of 2.0.

Master level of an elitecombat skill gets you Battle Droid (for ranged) / Super Battle Droid (for melee)certs. Battle Droids get equiped with a gun of your choice, Super Battle Droids get equiped with a melee weapon of your choice, but also have a weak blaster for ranged support. Each should have around the HAM and resists of a Probot before the dreaded nerf, and the damageand attack speed depends on the weapon you equip them with.

Master DEs only get Droideka's. Can attack ranged only, with their blasters. Have around 4000 HAM, and resists up to Probot level before the nerf. Move slowly when fighting, but can keep up with you if they aren't, and they take up 2 of the 5 droid limit. Require no armor, but instead different levels of a personal shield generator built by armorsmiths give them their resists. Should take large amounts of resources to build, and would be the crowning achievement of the DE profession.

And of course, whenever a DE gains ability to build one of the other combat droids, they get a cert for them as well. No one wants to be able to build a Probot and not be able to use it because you don't have any Novice combat skills.

Just my 2 credits since the devs are determined to lower the usefulness of droids to new players.

Ok, now that KD has been nerfed and we BH cannot take down our marks without the cheap tactic of pets, or Bleed & Run (i admit spamming KD was cheap, but atleast is was MY skill i earned), marks need to be nerfed, fixed whatever you want to call it.

Here is my idea -

Marks themselves should not be too tough to take down. Instead let some marks have bodyguards. Make ita surprise. BH missions are bland. I can pretty much tell you the HAM and % of a mark just by how much the mission pays. So, make it where some marks have bodyguards. That way you dont know what you are getting in to. If i get to the mark and he has no BodyGuards - good i take him down - with minimal tactics needed). If he has Bodyguards, i need to come up with tactics to take out the mark. Do i knockdown the bodyguards first, then go after the mark, or do i risk getting killed by going after the mark with a full head of steam.

Bounty missions are all the same. They were the same before the nerf - Me spamming KD - and they are the same now - Me dying. Marks should not be bonifiedTerminators. By looking at the resists - i think i would have an easier time taking down Boba Fett in Jabba's palace.

Really, I have never seen a mark with a BodyGuard. Maybe it was just an aggro or something you were factioned against. Anyway, the point was for the MARK himself to bea lot easierto take down but strong bodyguard(s).
