In patch 14 coming soon, already on Test Center, they are removing admin to all but the owner of the building.

How many profession forums are you going to post this in???

It's a BUG, more than likely.

They happen all the time on TC, and unless it's in the patch notes or update notes, I'd hold off on freaking out too badly until it hits Live.

It makes little to no sense to limit admin on a house to just the owner. There are a lot more situations outside of malls that this would screw up - guildhalls, cantinas, LOTS of stuff.

So let's hold off on the panic and the cross-profession postings until this is officially acknowledged and/or it hits Live.

1) That may just be a bug (wasn't explicitly mentioned in the patch notes).

2) The reports I've noticed in the TC discussion thread mentioned problems only with picking up items from a house the player didn't own. You may still be able to drop items (including vendors), but this change would make "admin theft" (where you give a player admin rights to place a vendor and they clear out the building) impossible. Of course, in a perfect world you should know and trust players you're giving admin rights to, but....

3) {rampant speculation} It's a first pass at reducing lot trading. One of the admin problems reported included being unable to remove resources from lot-traded harvesters. Personally, I think reducing static harvesters is a good thing, although locking non-owners out of the resource hopper is the wrong way to do it. A better solution would be to allow only the owner to change resource type, other players on the admin list can still add maintenance, power, and empty the hopper. The owner is only required to get involved at a resource shift, or to re-deed the harvester.

Hmm... It sounds like a bug to me. I just logged on to TC and placed a house and I had no problem setting people as admin. I didn't thouroughly test it, but that is the sort of thing that I don't think they would change unannounced.

Well I hope this is not the case. I share a mall we 4 other crafters who are all on admin and we also work with addtional rangers and miners who we really need to keep on admin. No one has ever stolen a single item you gotta pick the right people

Adding players as admins apparently works as normal. But players on that list (other than the structure owners) are reporting being blocked from some actions with the structure. Which actions are getting blocked, which are still allowed, and what works with different structure types (house, factory, harvester)is a bit fuzzy.

I also don't think they'd put in a change like this deliberately unannounced, but I do think it's possible thata planned change may have snuck onto TC earlier than they expected. If lot-trading is getting restricted in publish 14, changes to admin code may have been incorrectly included in the build pushed to TC.

I just checked and the admin list is acting exactly the same as the entry list. I really think it is a bug though.
