Thread: Is it possible to experiment on the tools??
I tried building a new general crafting tool next to a Weapon Droid and General Crafting station, in hopes of experimenting on the tool to make it better, but I was never presented with the dialog box to spend my experiment points.
Is it possible?
If so, what crafting station and tool do you need to use?

If you are next to aWeapon, Droid, and Generic Item crafting station, you have to use a Weapon, Droid, and Generic Item crafting tool.
Yes, you can experiment on them. I did last night and boosted effectiveness way up, but I haven't really seen that it made any difference.

In order for you to have the expiramentation and manufacturing schematic options, two things must happen.
1) You MUST be using the specialized crafting tool for that product type. This does not work with a General tool.
2) You MUST be standing within about 15-20 meters from a public (or private) crafting station. This crafting station MUST be the same type as the one you are using in point 1.
If any of these things are not done, you will not get the option to expirament or make a manufacturing schematic.
In answer to your question, you can expirament on crafting tools. Although it says that you may have increased it's expiramentation success or its durability, once complete, there is no way to tell by examination. I have yet to see a real diffence in my rate of success with these "enhanced" tools.

Okay - so I am an idiot.
Now that that is done, I've built one and experimented with it from great success. But after it is put into my inventory, other than my new name for it, how do I tell them apart.
There aren't any desernable staistics displayed.

I name my crafting tools after the level of success I got experimenting them. As a master artisan, I now have a "Great Structure Crating Tool" and an "Amazing Structure Crafting Tool". I don't have any idea if it really makes a difference, but I always use the Amazing one for the final product in my architecture, just in case.
I'd like to know because if it does make a difference, and if they'd eventually put some indication on it, I could make more money selling high-end tools that non-masters can't make. Boy those 10 experimentation points are handy ![]()
However, it looks like the majority of critical failures (whether in assembly or experimentation) happen on the experimented tool. Has anyone else seen this happen?
