AS the title says I have just started Artisan for a holo of armorsmith. I have a simple question, what is the best way to gather resources. I'm having problems finding high concentration and usually come out the sampling with around 5 units at most. Is there something I'm doing wrong. Please help, crafters need to support crafters.

You mean for the survey line as opposed to harvesting resources with installations right? If so, you've pretty much got it right, each sample doesn't yield many units, 5 is probably average.

However, with Surveying IV and while standing ona concentration of 85% or more, 8-10 is the norm. Plus, with survey events, you can usually get anywhere from 20-50 resources in a single sample.

Mate, find yourself a friendly architect and buy some harvesters. Seriously, collecting by hand is insane. As a novice artisan you can survey for decent waypoints and need never even sample once!. Just survey and drop the harvester on the right spot. A little money and a little power and you can forget about scrabbling around for 5 units here and there of resources.

Of course, going up the survey tree makes finding those resources a little easier - but the real answer to you question about the best way to gather resources - harvesters.

Heh macro-sample ur way up the surveying tree - otherwise it takes forever and boring as ...

When doing artisan (not for holo, I'm still as master artisan and intend to keep it) I made pretty much random stuff until I got engineering 3 then built personal extractors to grind my way up the remaining trees... up to u but if I was the holo-grind up armoursmith I'd get master artisan first/during as it's easier to get and one less profession u gotta worry about I guess! (Plus I read a lot of people who'd holo'd AS have to do chef/WS or something similar too so the extra practice won't go amiss!)
