if i wwere you would work on both and see which one you went up faster. I am quiting artisan except to make droid batteries! I got scout to make tents and med to make stims.. and I have found that I need med more then craft. It's a bore.

Everyone,

If I drop the Artisan skill tree, can I still make clamps, laserknives and spice? I am assuming that those products can be made regardless of the Artisan tree as they are smuggler specific items. But, before I drop it I just want to make sure.

Thanks,

yeah you'll be ok. Clamps, knives and spice are all granted under the smuggler skill set and don't have anything to do with artisan.

Thank you very much for the info! Kiss the Artisan skill-tree goodbye!

We were all new once.

Artisan is a good place to start, but you need to understand that you'll be a newbie artisan. You'll at first be able to collect some resources, make some things you can use, but you're not going to walk into the game and start selling items, that masters can make better.

You will be able to see if you like it, and maybe even head toward an elite crafting skill.

If you're new though, I really encourage you to try everything. Start as an artisan, run a few delivery missions, and then for 500 credits, (100 each) you can pick up the other 5 novice skills. Try a bit of each, and see what's fun to you.

Artisan is a great starting profession but i would recomend for you to go marksmen also so you can protect yourself. I would also recomend to find a nice older player that has mastered thta pro so they can help when ever you need it. I play in Radiant as Nwot if that is your server i would be happy to help.
