hey all,

I am going through the Domestic Arts tree because I have decided to become a chef. I am MANUALLY going through the tree with my crafting tools, no macros, no 3rd party tools. What I have is 5 tools set up so I can Basicly grind through that tree till I get to Chef.

What my question is, with those 5 tools set up, when I go to use one, works fine. Second tool works fine, but when I click on the 3rd tool, and start to craft, if the first/second tool is done, the crafting tool that I am using will close up and I lose my resorces.

I have been a fighter, and I really like a lot of the foods that you can now make. I would like to try my had at it. I have a TON of resorces and I think I could make some good stuff.

Has this been an update that I am not aware of? I am an Arch on my other toon, and she didn't have this problem. I manually did Arch too (I like to craft, go figure.

Thanks all.

Let me guess, you're grinding crafting tools, right? The session ending when a previous one completes is a known "feature" when making those in practice mode (if you actually make the item the session won't end on you). It's been going on for a few publishes. Those seem to be the only items that cause this, which is probably why your architect didn't see it. You can try making survey tools or (if you've got Engineering III) harvesters. If you just want to stick to the Dom Arts tree, large glasses in DAIV are handy for getting the 19k or so crafting xp you need for Novice Chef. Aitha andCrispic also give decent xp, but do require creature resources. Some clothing might be good to grind too, but I don't have the numbers handy for those, so I can't say for sure.

BTW, welcome to the kitchen.

Here's something I found. (edit - actually someone pointed it out) Not sure if it's 100% for all situations. I've only seen this problem when I had 2 tools that were made with the same original crafting tool. For example, If I take a Weapon,Droid, general tool #1, and make 2,3,4&5 with this same tool I get the error you mentioned. If I take tool #1, make #2, tool #2 makes #3, tool 3makes #4, tool #4 makes #5 it works fine.

Hey all,

I've asked this before, but can someone reliably duplicate this failure?

The Devs, when I asked, indicated that this was due to crit-fails, not a bug. My testing cannot disprove this hypothesis.

When I ground out survey devices, I saw a lot of these. Now that I'm a master, I ran the crafting macro again and saw very few.

So, can someone give me a procedure that will reliably cause this failure? If so, I can demonstrate it and prove the point.

Take care,

Take a weapon/droid tool.

Create a new tool, name it tool 1

Using the original tool, create a second tool. Name it tool 2.

Craft an item in practice mode with tool 1.

As the count down is occurring. Open tool 2, select a schematic, add materials, do not finish the process.

When the countdown on tool 1 hits 0, the window on tool 2 will close. resources will be lost.

Excellent! Great job!

I can confirm this bug.

Consider it reported.

Thank you,

Already been reported. Customer service already knows of it.

The scenario goes like this, so feel free to verify my testing.

If you start general crafting tool A to craft an armor/clothing tool (or any other crafting tool). Put it on practice mode and it will take approx. 31 seconds to complete. While that 31 second timer is counting down, open up general crafting tool B. Don't do anything, just open it and wait for the 31 second timer. When it counts down to 0, it will close your tool B.
