Thread: Survey droid usefulness

Okay, I admit it, I've been asleep for the last two or three publishes. I just went through (briefly) the last 5 pages of topics, looking in the stickies, etc. Where the heck is the good Survey Droid information? Are they worth the trouble? I'm interested in the Interplanitary droid if it does what I hope it does....Which is TELL ME WHEN MY HARVESTERS HAVE STOPPED...I wouldn't mind a droid that could go find a good concentration of Talusian Water either....

Yes, you can use it to figure out if your harvesters have stopped. Activate it, select your mineral (or whatever) survey tool and off it goes. (the tool is used up, so have a spare). About 30 minutes later, you get an email with a listing of all the resource spawns that tool could possibly detect on the planet, including class and resource name. No sample data is returned, though.

Personally, I consider them awsome. At the cost of 2000 for a stack of five, plus making a few tools, I can find out if there's a new spawn of Carbonite ore on, say, Dantoonie, while I'm in my shop on Talus. Or if my harvesters on Talus have stopped picking up a specific type of Steel. Cheaper and more convenient than a shuttle ticket through CNet.

Er, brain fart. I meant my shop on Tatooine.

Stupid question, but where can I get these droids? A Master DE?

Not sure if it takes a master, but yes, a DE.

I love em as well. They are also useful for helpin to keep swgcraft.com up to date for the resouce categories that arent unique to each planet.

I started using them but found that it was better just to look at swgcraft.com - the web site is faster and provides much more information.

Yeah, but someone has to keep swgcraft updated.

Highly recommended. Like someone above says it can be used to tell you when something shifts away because it tells you what's available right now. If the reources you are mining isn't on the list then you need to make the trip. At least on Radiant they are fairly inexpensive (I buy by crates)and I now just carry a stack of low quality metal to replace the survey devices it uses up.

I love the little buggers and routinely send out a few a day. It saves quite a bit of money from checking harvesters particularly if you are mining something on Endor or an expensive planet to get to.
