Thread: Newly retrained in novice artisan for surveying skills.. have a few questions

First off I am a newly reactivated account and I have a few questions. I realize some may have already been answered but I don't have much time to look them up.


I am trying to set up some chemical extractors...


1Do all harvesters accept ALL types of energy??I bought what I was sure some sort of solid fuelenergy (about 30K worth) but I cannot add the power to my chem extractor.


2 the difference between levels of extractor ei regular personal (i think 6 BER and the chem extractor is 10, and the deep crust extractor is 12or 13) But this doesnt give much of a per/min increase in extraction rate and yet the prices and costs are significantly higher. Am i mistaken but what is the advantage of getting a larger extrator other than the capacity ? It seems the cost of both power and upkeep gwo exponentially where as the output is hardly worth it.


3 how good are the surveyor droids? I read that they can travel to other planets and survey for you. are they bugged or even reliable? i have yet to even see any for sale.

  1. Only Wind, Solar or Radioactive will work.

  2. I believe a BER 10 medium will give you the most resources for your money, but a BER 13 heavy will pull a lot more over time.

  3. They only list the resources available on whatever planet. They don't give waypoints.

What she said, plus re #3, they're reliablebut they do not list resource attributes. They also take around 40 minutes to return the email to you... blah.

Well thank you both for the information...


So why the heck is that solid fuel listed as energy?? i bought 180K worth of it (thats all the energy that was stocked on the vendor near me at the time.)


I'll have to give those droids a shot, i heard they aren't expensive...



I find mining can be such a time consuming project.. But I do enjoy the end result when you have resourses that soemone else would really like to buy....


i'm not crafter though, more of a miner/hunter..
