Forgive me if I've missed this in FAQs...

Hi all, brand new master artisan here, getting ready to "hit the big time" by opening a business, but before I do have a question about factories. I know I'm going to need one if I hope to keep my vendor stocked, but I've never used one before. Do you gain any experience points at all for factory production like you do for crafting? And do you need separate kinds of factories to build different lines of products (like vehicles, pups, etc.)?

You get no "use" or crafting experience for factory-made goods.

There are different factories for different types of things. In general, the Engineering tree needs an equipment factory. The clothing part of the Domestics tree needs a... clothing factory. The foods side of the Domestics tree needs a food/chem factory.

Quotable: It's pretty freaking underwhelming when the story turns out to be you, alone, in a field, for two weeks, punching toads. | At least SOE lasted a year before they went Turbine on us.

You get no exp from factories.

You will need a factory to make the correct items. The ones you mention are all under an Equipment Factory. Armor and Clothes requires another type, Food and meds require another and Structures have their own as well.

Not anymore. Last I heard you get 10% of the xp and thats only if you are near the factory. Not even sure if you get that anymore.

As far as I know, factories correspond with the type of tool you use (not including the generic tool). So powerups, master artisan components, and vehicleswould use the equipment (weapon, droid, general item) factory. Clothing like backpacks, casual jackets, and simple shirts use a wearables factory. All artisan foods use a food/chem factory.
