Thread: noob resource question.
I've tried looking around and can't find an answer to this issue. If I find a good concentration of resources, should I automatically plop down a harvester? Or should I also take into account the materials' stats like Overall Quality or Conductivity for metals, etc? Also, are the stats the same for every sample I take on that spot? If I DO take stats into account, what is considered good or important? I'm also not familiar with crafting so forgive my ignorance on that too![]()
That would depend on what the material is. For example...
Low grade Ore: This is mostly used in structures, and quality has little bearing. Concentrations above 60% are rare, I would definitely set down a harvester or two if I found such a deposit. Structures take a lot of ore to make, but as I said, quality matters little, so mine away whenever you find it.
Copper: A decent all around metal used in many things, copper is often singled out as a resource useful in making weapons because it tends to have high conductivity, a major factor in weapons construction, along with overall quality. If you find copper with high conductivity *and* high overall quality, you've definitely found something worthwhile.
Those are the two I am most familiar with... I will also say that architects require large amounts of steel and reactive gas, quality of which is not a particular issue. Weaponsmiths need reactive gas as well, and quality is an issue there. If you find a high % concentration of reactive gas its almost certain to be useful to someone.
I hope this helps ![]()
It depends on what is your objective for the resources.
If you are mining it to make weapon, high contunity and over quality is good. But if you are planning for medical supplies, high decay resistance and over quality is good.
So it all depends on what is the purpose of the resource.
