Thread: Idea for naming items and selling them on the bazaar

One thing that i'd like to see implemented in the game is a system to keep some names in memory for the items i craft. I dont like keeping the default name for the food items i craft, and i want to use always the same name for a given product. The problem is that i have to type it again every time i craft the item. If the game could keep a list of names in which to choose each time, it would be more comfortable.

Same for the bazaar : it's not funny to have to type again the vendor's description when you put the same items several times on the bazaar. There should be a system of "my favourite descriptions", you type them once and then just have to select the one you want the next time you want to use.

Having to retype everything each time doesnt make me feel like writing original things. I'm using less and less the vendor's description on the bazaar because of this.

Maybe the idea has already been discussed on the boards, if so i'm sorry, i didnt find the post.

If alt-tabbing works for you, you may want to put your favorite descriptions into a .txt file to reuse. Then you could cut and paste, saving a bit of typing.

I hear ya on the item name thing though--there are several tailor items that are wookiee only, but don't have wookiee in the name, and I sometimes forget to rename them. Leads to people buying clothes they can't wear.

It also helps to put the damage and speed of a weapon into its name for faster comparison. For example, instead of CDEF Rifle you may see 30-61/3.4 CDEF Rifle (yes those numbers are possible, I've done it )

I prefer to add the numbers after the name. Eg. CDEF Rifle 30-61/3.4 and I also add my name (Noggs) after the numbers.

To jennydragon : it didnt know copy/paste worked from out of game to inside it. i'll try it.

It makes me think about another thing that could be useful in game : a copy/paste function. Example : if i have a very long macro that i want to split into 2 parts, i have to retype one of those parts. With a copy/paste it would be much easier.

It could also be useful for items descriptions on the bazaar, as you said, without having to ctrl+tab out of game.

The game DOES have a Copy/Paste function, but it isn't mapped to any keys. Go into Options (CTRL-O)to set this yourself. Since CTRL-C and CTRL-V are already used by the game, I mapped Copy and Paste to CTRL-SHIFT-C and CTRL-SHIFT-V.

For market descriptions, I created a macro that has my description of repeat sales. For example, I sell Travel Packs with 5 Multiperson Camp kits in them. I have a 2 paragraph description for these as my "ad campaign" and don't want to type it everytime. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to use macros to paste text (it outputs as speach instead) so what I do is this:

CTRL-A to view macro. Click Edit on my macro. Highlight the text and press CTRL-SHIFT-C to copyand then go to the Item Description in the bazaar and CTRL-SHIFT-V to paste. Kind of clunky, but better than a blank description or a lame one line description.
