I am a masochist, so, I always try new features. Last night, I took a survey mission. The terminal said the guy wanted "efficiency 63" and "metal". A very small bit of wandering found a 70% density spot of iron, so I sample some, and waited to be told I'd completed the mission. Nothing. Kept sampling up to 50 units. Nothing. Wandered to a spot which was precisely 63% and sampled some more. Nothing.

There was nothing in the mission description that gave me anyone to go back to, any amount to mine, etc. It's still in my datapad. What do I do?

hello..it took me a while to figure it out also....in theroy all you have to do.is find a %'ge of the ore,metal,etc with the survey tool...the only requirements are that you be atleast 510 (somthing like that) away from the terminal you got the mission at...no samp0ling is required acutly just find the correct material in the spesified amount (%) and bada bing you get paid....hope this helps

ps.any under the geniric tree of that type will work,if you noticed it only says "ore" so any "ore" will work

if your having problems make shure your looking for the right thing....ie:"metals" are not "ore"etc

You don't sample... all you have to do is survey. Most of the time it doesn't work if you're too close to town. Keep running away and surveying until it says you completed the mission. If you go too low on you survey %, find another place for the mineral.

That might be it. I was about three feet from the city gates.
