Thread: Factory troubles.....
It's a bug that's been in since day 1 and is very common.
Your factory is fubar for that particular schematic. The only workaround is destroying the factory and placing it down again.
I never put too much maintenance or power in factories. Just enough to reclaim the deed.
So THAT'S what's wrong with mine?
Same symptoms... it just stopped working, and changing schematics or resources weren't working. I'll try ro reclaim and re-place the factory and see how that works.
It is a new bug since the 15 Aug patch. I don't believe it's related to 100 item produced, since I have produced 10 and then switched schematics and have it not work.
I believe it's related to the fact that I can not remove the schematic from the factory, so the first schematic entered will work. I loaded a schematic for 100 wall unites which requires 1000 structure modules, I am able to to reload the input hopper after each batch of 9 walls completes without any problem. Soon as I swap schematics, because I can't remove the currently loaded one, the new schematic will not produce items. It only eat 1 units worth of resouces then tell me 0 items were produced. Which is frustrating in the architect world where 1 unit is normally several thousand resouces.

ran a sample run of 10 items. worked fine
Setup to run 250, stopped after 90... thats the 100 item bug
FUBAR
Last night was my first attempt at using a factory, and I've been having similar problems. However,it doesn't seem to be linked to running 100 units. I had to re-deed twice last night. It quit on me once after a 50 unit run I did immediately after re-deeding. However, when I logged on this morning, it was working again. Re-deeding gets it to work again immediately, butmaybe if you wait a while it will work again.
One observation: The area where I built my factory is very crowded (a bunch of squatters surrounded my house with solar collectors). There was only one spot nearby to build my factory, and it was a very tight fit. This could be coincidence, butwhen I re-deeded, it wouldn't let me build it in the spot where it was before (the yellow area had expanded). I had to move the factory a bit from where it originally was.Could the changing no-build zone have an effect on the factory dying?
Question:Has anyone been able toremove a schematic from a factory without putting a new one in? The "remove schematic" button does nothing for me. I can exchange one schematic with another, but once I put one in, there always has to be one there. So whenre-deed Ialways losea schematic. I have to keep a junk schematic in my datapad so I can remove the one I want to use again.
