does this message interrupt your sampling? Do you have to click on a system message to continue? It may be one of the so-called 'special events' that's supposed to happen while sampling, and meant to thwart marcro sampling.

Yes, It stops surveying until you hit the OK button.

I'm curious though if anyone has seen any results from it. Or is this simply to inturrupt the macro?

It does not add any items into my survey tool, nor do I pick up anything that I'm not directly looking for. Perhaps I am missing something here?

Maybe if you get lucky, it will give you some other interesting, but high-value resource that doesn't appear on the scanner chart.

So far I've seen a couple of different types of these messages. The one that I was able to get to work was when it tells you that you found a better cache of this resource somewhere close by. If you click Ok it will set you a waypoint (the two I used were like 20m away) and then first time you dig there you get a sample of ~30 .

This event sucks. In their efforts to thwart macro-harvesting, as if that was a terrible thing anyways, they have screwed up non-macro actions. I can sometimes sample until my action bar is depleted and other times, I have to answer that message 3 or 4 times. What's even more enfuriating, is that it causes me to STOP sampling and I have to restart it. This whole event thing is asinine and if enough people complain about it maybe they'll take it back out.

I've gotten both messages the first post talked about.

The one that creates a new waypoint, I've only been succesful once out of 2 times its popped upand what it did was instead of my regular 7-10 units per turn was 24, then it went on with my normal 7-10.

The one that wants you to recover the resource I've only been succesful 1 out of 5. Instead of my normal amount I got 20 units.

I have completely gone up the survey tree so this maybe experience based on how often you will be succesful, cuz it took awhile before recovering the unkown resource would work, I could be wrong, it maybe random no matter what your skill is, but there is my insight on it.

i had it after 4 samples...i hit ok..went to new wp..and got 34units in one sample...but the rest were normal 8-10per but yes it does suck for AFK sampling...THE MAN always has to bring a good thign down.

Just curious is any of you have had any success with the new window that
comes up while sampling...

Something like:

"the survey tool has found an unknown resource, would you like to focus the
tool on it or continue sampling"

Then it sets a waypoint... I go there and start sampling (for the same
thing I presume)

Then, after sampling a while longer I get:

"you have found an unknown resource. Do you want to try and recover it
or continue working."

I try to recover it and get nothing...

Had any luck with this? Am I doing somehting wrong?

hmm, that's interesting...I only sample enough now to examine the resource stats, so I wouldn't get this message. However, I may start sampling again just for this reason...

i got it when i was trying to AFK sample.. but i didnt see it much.. it takes action or something right?

At Surveying III I've hit as high as 40 units going to the better spot. It also gave me 50 survey xp.

I got one message that asked if I wanted to recover a particularly concentrated cache of resources (in the same spot) I said yes and I got a sample of 40. The ones that make me move away don't work for me at all however.

I have found that when I do recover one od these nice veins, the game often then puts me on a 3 or 4 fail streak basically nerfing any extra resource gain. I'm very close to ignoring these events from now on.
