for Business 1 : Charge access fees... does anyone? I think that if someone has to Pay just to look at your vendor, unless you're known for having THE BEST stuff on the server, you're just turning away potential customers.

2nd by the time you get this skill, you are probably (at least for a starting Artisan) in NO position to use this ability and makes one (me specificaly) feel as if I wasted the crafting exp and skill points until I'm capable of making anything worth selling, usually starting Engineering III. Unless you're selling the CDEF Rifle/Carbine (Pistol & Survival Knife)for the Rifleman/Carbineer or to the Novice Smuggler for Slicing exp, it's hard to sell anything else till you reach Personal Mineral Extractor and by that point, even though I bought minerals on the bazaar too, I had already reached Survey IV... which is a different discussion

so who uses this ability?

I have gotten a message at least a half dozen time that to enter this building you have to pay 1 CR. It's not like one credit is going to break me, and if it gives someone a little more experience, I don't see the problem.

It does get abused, some people charge like 999999 in the hope someone will accidently click yes...

Actually, it does have a place.. I went to one place, turned out they didn't have any vendors at all..

I realized later it was full of personal crafting stations. My house is fully public (no fee) and the crafting stations in the back room are all 42+. I figured they were just charging a small fee to use their machines.

Yeah I seen this on a PA Hall they only wanted 1 Cr. Which is not bad but some greedy **edit** out there wants 150,000 Cr just to walk into his small generic house. He's just hoping someone will hit OK before they read the message.

My house often has a 99999999 credit access fee because I have a vendor in there that has custom orders on it. Since the entrance fee is so high it prevents others from buying the large custom orders meant for my customers.

You can just as easily set permissions to allow your customers to enter your house.

Sigh, you can not set a house with vendors to private, i wish this was possible, you can not place a vendor in a private house, i wish this was possible.

you use to be able to do this in beta, but the ability to do so was removed due to griefing, IE really good item for 1 cr then you have to pay 25k to enter the buiding.

But in beta you use to be able to buy the items on the vendor from the bazar in the city so if you shop was out in the boon docks you still sold sales in the city, i guess has something to do with the bugged merchant profession since about 20% is fillin the blank when it comes to the deves heck 4/x/x/x use to say right before retail came out "This skill doesnt do anything but we are working on it really soon, we promise"

Personally I think we need to have the ability to have a Private building that guilds can allow there memebrs to access and have merchants in them.

I want to sell my resouces at 1:1 for members and low price in bulk for members. but the only way to do it is to set my buildings access fee to 9,999,999,999 since i know no one will ever come in and if they do and pay the access fee they can have whats on the vendors.

REasons for access fees:

Crafting Stations (as someone pointed out)...i have a house like this.

Player Cantinas

Player "medical clinics"

It is too bad that you cannot advertise these services on the map like you can with vendors.

90% of the time I have paid an acess fee it was to look at an empty vendor, even though, the sign out fromt advertised somegreat items. Needless to say I don't pay access fees unless I am bored and feeling generous. (frequency about 1 ot of 10 times)

I have a 1 cr fee on a shop I have out at Fort Tuskan. I am told having a fee will keep the mobs out, and soI did it so people won't accidentally draw aggro inside to any other customers, and allows em a place to run if they 'accidentally' attract unwanted attention.

i can see access fees playing a huge role in player cities (and also houses atm too)..in play productions! yes! play productions! why would they have a theater accessible to players? think about it...to go and watch a play, you buy a ticket..hence access fee! btw, this idea came to me..since i myself am preparing a ingame play to be enacted out in my player town!
