Thread: Can someone please explain in detail about experimentation?
I know that you can experiment on items for xp???? But, what does this mean? CAn someone please explain the details of this in a way that is understandable to somebody with very little artisan knowledge??

Actually isnt the xp determined by the complexity of the item?
In which case an experimented item _will_ give more xp because experimentation increases the complexity
For the fastest artisan xp you should therefore make personal harvesters
I don't think exp has ever been based on complexity, but I ahve only been playing since July 5th. It is now based on the units ofresources used.
When using the practice button, your exp is increased by approx 5%.
Experimenting is all about making the best items you can with the materials you're working with. Basically, as you experiment, you can make the item better and better, at a cost of complexity and the chance of failure (making the item worse).
The best place to go is the 'Advanced Guides' section of the official website. There's an article there about crafting and experimentation that's really quite detailed.
