Are Unknown types of resources good for anything? I found a 93% vein on Tattooine of unknown non-ferrous metal.
Thanks.

Sure, it can be used in anything that requires inorganic, mineral, metal, or non-ferrous metal.

Hello,
I'm a hard working Weaponsmith (not master yet =) ) on the Radiant galaxy server. I've been trying to make great weapons for people but had difficulties with some weapon components, because the required resource(s) have not spawned in a while or the resource is very poor and offer little benefit to the item being crafted.
My question is about unknown resources (Steel, Alluminum, Iron, etc) which appear occasionally on planets. Can these resources be substitued for an equal type named resource? (for example: RHODIUM Alluminum is an item required to craft Advanced Pistol-Barrels).
Thank you all!

Sorry! I Had a typo. RHODIUM Alluminum should be RHODIUM Steel.

No, they cannot replace a named resource. The only time you could use these is where a schematic calls for say 25 units of ferrous metal, you could use 25 units of some of that unknown ferrous metal. Personally, I haven't seen any really good unknown ferrous or non-ferrous metals .. I've seen some nice unknown solid petro fuels and reactive gasses, mostly because I'm just using them for OQ.

Don't give up completely on the unknowns, every once in awhile they have some awesome stats
