Thread: What are the prefered stats for Melee Weapon Powerups?

I had someone ask me to make Melee powerups. I assumed that they wanted 3 stat powerups like I make for ranged weapons. Primary +Max damamge, Second +Min Damamge and Bonus 3rd stat...

But Now after reading a few posts I see that it's not possible to get a damage modifier as the primary on a Melee powerup.

So what is prefered then?

I'm guessing that the prefered would be

Primary - Mind special cost
Second - Max Damamge
thrid - What ever bonus.

Does that sound right?

Yup, that's pretty much it. The possible primary stats are Health/Action/Mind Cost, Point Blank Attack Modifier, and Ideal Range. I've never known anyone that asked for the last 2, while out of the HAM, Mind is the most popular because you can heal/buff health and action easily. The possible secondary stats are Max Damage, Min Damage, Speed, Wound Chance, and Max Range Attack Modifier. Some might want Max Damage, some might want Speed, but the higher level ones usually are fast enough that they don't need more speed boost.

I was told by some TKAs that the melee powerups that I made with reduced mind cost (primary) and increased speed (secondary) were something they all were looking for. Also, I noticed that specials used for melee weapons cost action, so try to get a combination of action reduction and speed increase or mind reduction and speed increase.
