Thread: Eng 2 wpn pwrups Q?
They are ranged weapon powerups and provide various bonuses to a weapon for 100 shots. You drag them over the weapon and drop it onto the gun. There is also a melee version. When crafting them, the only statistic for the resources used that you need to consider is Overall Quality. The highest that the best stat will be on one is about 33%. Any thing less, even 32 or 31% are priced at a discount, typically. I've seen people sell them for insane amounts, but when I make them I typically have a very large supply of materials, and price them about 1000 credits per factory crate of 10, or less. I'm cheaper than most, but this is not my main source of credit income. 2000 is not a bad price per crate, and I've seen people sell for over 5000 per 10, which just makes me chuckle. It takes 6 mineral and 4 chemical per powerup, and you can use absolutely any resource to meet these requirements. Just watch that Overall Quality....
Also, the best selling ones are typically those that improve speed or damage. Occasionally I will get a request from a rifle man or someone for some that will reduce the Mind HAM drain for special shots.

The weapon power ups like barrel, scope and coupler....does anyone, without sending me to Alakazam, have any idea what these items do, and the stats on them?
Because they can greatly increase the stats on a weapon, very good ones are worth their weight in gold to combat types. An OK, 10,000cr,weapon with a good powerup can be as effective as a 100,000 cr one without. And the fine weapon can be better yet.
The low grade ones you will get at Eng 2 are probably not worth anyone's time to buy, but very good onescan bethe best credits-per-resource product. Of course you will need to have very high OQ resources, but even then there is a good return once you learn how to do it.
Trying to makesome for your own use will be educational, you will get to see the variations in the crafting process and effects.
Plan on spending hours experimenting them to get one that is really worthwhile. Search for quality resources of various kinds to see what is best, and hunt enough to see how they work out in practice. With the perfect schematic and 10k of the right resources in your pocket, you are sitting on a goldmine, but you will still need to convince your customers of their value.
Now TheKraken may have gotten a lucky draw on experimentation and likes to selldecent onescheap, but he isn't really into the business. I have sold thousands at 2000cr each, with a small discount forpeople who come to my shop and buycases. But it took me a long time to learn what really made them work right.
Competition has never been an issue for me. Others may make a high stat item, and sell it cheap, but they rarely keep on making them. In the meantime, my sales may suffer a little, but the "secret sauce" (TM) keeps bringing them back.
