Took me about 3 hours to do Engineering, Domestic Arts and Businessman. I made nothign but 10 sided dice (was making slitherhorns and didnt realize i was getting more musicianship xp than general.. hehe) and leveled up rather fast.

Surveying took me longer than i thought it would. There didnt seem to be a way to speed Sampling up at all. Just kneel and wait. I also dont see how i could afk sampling because of the dialogue boxes (losing concentration, higher concentrations... anyone know how to auto-ignore these boxes?), and the fact that i would sample 4-7(!) times in a row without getting anything and i was on a 84% source.

Here is the real kicker. I had no clue i could craft while i sampled. it just didnt occur to me that this could be done. I thought i was having to really concentrate on using the survey device but no, i could kick my crafting tools into high gear and go to town.... just seems wrong (and it makes me mad because i could have hit master in 1 day instead of 2).

Found some really nice metal in the middle of town, i cant place a harvester there. I would like to do a little afk sampling but i dont know how to ignore the dialogue boxes and random sampling events that take place, can someone please tell me how this is done? Id like to get a small amount of this metal.

ummm...harvesters will help with his future resource needs and/or provide very good income from bazaar sale. I would advise the exact opposite: put down a wind and mineral harv the first chance you get and more shortly thereafter.

To answer your other question, there is no way around the dialog boxes. However, an AFK macro, will ignore them if you kneel, stand, sit, rinse repeat. The dialog only prevents sampling for the "session" you are currently active on.

Now as to AFK sampling, that is downright against the EULA, and we ALL know that there is not ONE Master Artisan who EVER used that "exploit".
