Ok.. im a complete newbie, who used to play uo.. so far the game seems good, especially the skills tree thing, and the resources arn't just "1000 of whatever", but have a quality associated with them.

introductions aside,

i have a new artisan character, and would like to make some bits and pieces like the other resource tools (surveying one inparticular)..

i've been hitting things with sticks, and harvesting the resources.. problem is all i have is hide and meat.. which is nice, but i cant really seem to make a lot with them..

everything seems to require items like fibre-plast, some kind of cord/string, and metal..

is there a big list of what sort of resources are available? and how do i go about getting them?

cheers

You need to buy or make survey tools (there are a few different types, one for each group of resources) using these tools will enable you to locate and extract resources (except wind and solar, which can only be extracted by an installation, these tools only locate the resource)

ok.. so the only way i can get these resourses is to buy the specific tool to extract them..

is there a list of all the resources available anyway?

Bear in mind you need to be Novice Artisan to use survey tools, so you'll also be able to make them anyway (rather than have to buy them. Once youve located a good spot you can place a harvester rather than stay there and sample (if fact if you need large quantities you dont really have much choice but to use a harvester)

Also, resources dontexist forever (5-8 days IIRC) so whats good today may not be the best tomorrow (or even still be available) SWGcraft uses player feedback to track resources but its not infalible
