It is in a shadow or dark place in your home. Move it to the center or put up a torch nearby. Fixed it for me.

I am able to initialize NPC vendors but not the others. Same symtoms. I don't think it is the shadows.

There are no shadows. And what do you mean by torch? Is it an item I buy/build?

I had the same problem today with the bulky soda can vendor. Here is the work around that did the trick for me.

Keep chosing initialize from the radial menu untill the option disapears. Do not do anything else to the vendor untill the option disapears stricktly by choosing to initialize it. If you do something else other then keep hitting intialize after the first time, the option will disapear and the vendor will never actually initialize.

Hello unknownrogue,

I had the exact same problem.. and even with a CSR we couldn't get it solved. What finally worked for me was getting Business IV (or possibly Master). After that I was able to use both the bulk (soda-pop) vendor and the robo bartender.

I did try various tricks repeatedly, but I never tried the torch trick.

Good luck, and I hope it gets fixed for ya.

Thanks everyone for the help but so far nothing has worked!

I will however try again after I reach Master Artisan, which is only 200 Apprentership Points away.

Thanks!!!

The only thing you can do is keep destroying it and re-creating it until it works.

As for the person with the search link: That fix doesn't work. I had the same problem last night as the OP. That fix does not apply in this case.

From my research on the forums (using the search function for the self-righteous readers out there) for about an hour while sampling fiberplast last night I discovered a few things about this issue:

1) There is no pattern to it. Some people say it happens after you rotate the vendor...some say its because its in a shadow...some say its because the vendor is against a wall (curved or otherwise)...all are incorrect. The problem is a known bug and has no recognizable pattern.

2) In all cases the vendor is correctly initialized. The fix listed here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=merchant&message.id=14752 does not necessarily work. In my case the initialize option was not given upon subsequent checks of my radial menu and my vendor status screen showed the vendor was initialized and working properly.

3) The one and only sure-fire fix is to keep destroying and re-placing the vendor until it (eventually) works. It took 10 or more tries last night to get mine to work. Rotating, moving and lighting make no difference. It "fixes itself" at random.

Another interesting, possibly related bug. After setting up my vendor I changed my house name and the sign dissappeared and I can't get it back. This happened to me once before when I tried to set up a vendor in another location.

Another suggestions: Everyone who gets this problem -- /bug it AND send them a customer service ticket.

I finally got mine initialized. Im not sure which trick did it though. I tried so many. As I was placing/destroying/creating the vendor over and over, I did notice something odd. I now have 2 vendors.

I am 4/0/3/2 in Artisan. I thought you only got one vendor at Business III. Is this a bug? They are both placed, initialized, and accepting/selling items.

Ok I've now finally reached Master and the problem remains the same. I've tried every solution here and I guess I will have to wait for the Dev's to sort it out.

Oh yeah, and to TheFUna, I totally agree with you. There does seem tobe no logical similarities but I will keep building one after the other to make sure I can sell my Aluminum (90-91%) and all the deeds I have....

Thanks again.

Wow I guess the search feature doesn't work as well as it should. I had a CS tell me to keep replacing the vendors until ir worked... well, after 30 trys .. i gave up and came onto the forums..

Has anyone tried rotating thier broken terminal vendors after initializing it? Thats the only 'work-around' that worked fpr me.

A simple /rotatefurniture left 90 initialized it. And destroying it over and over didn't...
