I'm having fun with my artisan toon, and made some ranged weapons powerups that I think I could sell (schematic for 32%/16% max/min damage). I've got the resources, but how much should I expect to pay for a factory? What kind of factory do I need for ranged weapon powerups?

You need an equipment factory, and they run from 35k-45k.
