Thread: Problems with Surveying-Please Help!!!

I just started Artisan last night. I had all the resources I needed to get 4440. Now its time for the Survey tree. I made a flora surveying device and used it on Naboo. Everytime I used it I saw a waypoint for me to go. When I got there I used the sample command. Either it says the skill needed it beyond me or there is not enough substance to sample. What am I doing wrong? What is a good way to grind the survey tree and what devices should I use?

For starting off you need to pay attention to the concetration of the resource. The higher the percentage the better the chance of success. Also when you begin the profession you need to be in a higher percentage area to have any chance of success.
When you've done one survey go to the waypoint and then survey again. This will generate a new waypoint. Keep doing this until you reach a waypoint that has a high enough percentage.

I've never taken my artisan to naboo so I don't know what the desitys of thing there are, but 1) you only get survaying xp from sampling, not survaying (that I can tell) and 2) it is geniraly best to (if all you want to do is grind and you don't need a spesific resourse) get out your survaying device and just go down the list of survayable items and keep track of wich item has the highest density where you are and then follow the waypoints on untill you get a density of 70% or better and just hit sample or whatever it is and you'll start geting resoures, and evry time you pull somthing out, you get survaying xp. I leveled my survaying to 4 by the time I had experiment 3. (3/0/0/4)

Go look around www.swgcraft.com and get a Survey Macro.
Start the macro, go to bed. Start the macro, go to work etc. etc.
If you get the right macro, and tweak it right, you can macro all day and not lose all your ham.
You should get to Survey 4 in a day or 2.
I used a macro a while ago - before they had all the pop-up windows. So the macro I used will not work anymore.
You have to tweak the macro to re-start itself so it will ignore the pop-up windows.
when you come back to your computer you will have dozens of windows to close
