Fristly, Hello everyone
Well, I've had SWG a couple of days now, but not really done much. I am really after a few pointers as too how I might go about progressing my character.
So far, I've done a few crafting missions, and I've learnt Engineering I and Surveying I, but clearly need to move on else this is gonna be a very boring game...
So...
I stared a survey mission, but I have no idea how much materal I need to collect, anyway to fid out?
I guess as an Artisan I need to start making and stuff and selling it ( erm.. is that right? !) Is there much of a mrket of low level items ( like a novice artisan might make
)
How do I go about getting hold of a vehicle?
Is there any reason why I might wanna just go and ... 'adventure' ? ya know... wonder off into the wilderness?
I cant join in killing the rebels when a fight breaks out ( I am on tatooine, Mos Espa ) ... anyway I can do that?
Can I learn other skills, ie... other than those in the artisan skill tree?
I know that a few questions, but a few general pointers to get me going, and not just doing crafting missions for 120 credits a time would be helpful!
Oh, one other thing, I bought the game because I was assured that it was 'community driven' but not a single character has spoken to me yet, how do I go about 'getting into the community', I guess posting here might be a start!
Thankyou in advance for any replies! I'll be checking back shortly

It should be listed somewhere in the mission. Open up your datapad and look at the mission. It should tell you.

Not much demand for anything you can 'make', but you can collect and gather resources to sell on the bazaar. Once you get to Engineering III, you can start crafting personal harvestors and sell them.

Find a Master Artisan to make you one or find one of the vendors in a player town that has them for sale.

You'll end up doing this to find the resources you need.

You could but until you get some fighting skills, you'll get smoked.

Absolutely! You have to have some combat skills sometimes even as an artisan.

Find someone that has 'artisan' in their title and maybe even 'Helper'. Best way to get someone to speak to you is to speak to them first. Unless they are on their way to meet someone, I find that most people are more than agreeable to helping answer any questions you might have. Consider joining a PA (Player Association), which isa guild where you will definately meet plenty of other people.
Thankyou in advance for any replies! I'll be checking back shortly

Ty sir!
I'll go and checknow how much of the resource I need to complete the survey mission, I have already checked the datapad, but I'll check again. I think it just says 'can you collect enough material' at the end of the datapad entry.
Of course, if anyone else wants to throw in a few pointers feel free!

By the way, I found that as a Novice Artisan I made a nice profit off of selling Tools and Fireworks. Don't expect to get rich quick, but if you make in bulk and sell within major cities you'll make some good credits.

Try to get around 3k credits and then go to the bazzar and buy some metal and just pump out Chemical surveying tools, I did this tonight and got my artisan to engineering 3

Well, it is a survey mission, and on survey missions you dont need to sample any resources, just survey for a location with a high enough concentration of that kind of resource. If you 'examine' the mission in the datapas it will say something like 'Efficiency: XX' where XX is the concentration you need. The concentration is the % amount you see in the survey tool when surveying. Good luck
