You are not going to be collecting enough resources while sampling to really make a great amount of money. I would suggest finding a high concentration of steel or polymer and just work on that. When I say high concentration, what ever you can get with 90%+. Quality will not matter at this point.

what is the best thing to survey for at novice art. I have no ideah what resources people look for or need the most. Im not too concerned about exp points yet, but im sure I will be at some point.
could some ne post a link to a newbie guide or answere these real quick.
any other usfull info would be great.
I do plan on going droid master and im on the bria server.

Whatever you sample for, you're not going to make much with by-hand sampling. Sample for what you need for other things, or sample for chemical (which seems to tend to be higher concentration) and get to the higher levels of sampling quickly.

I'm not sure if your question has been answered yet. The resources people need the most vary on what they need to make. Best reference? http://www.swgcraft.com/home.php (If you're lucky someone will make that a clicky, I don't know how to do that on these forums yet.)
If you're going to gain Survey skill, then find a good location that isn't around any hostile spawn, drink some BE-made Vasarian Brandy and Accaragm(sp?) to perk up your Action and Mind pools, and start sampling.
