i highly doubt he downloaded it, because he would need a valid cd key, i have never heard of anyone being able to hack any mmog, and if someone did hack it, then i wouldnt have spend 50 bucks on this game either

hi all,

i have been playing the game a few weeks now, trying to learn and understand everything, and i have been doing a ton of reading on here as well.

but i had a few questions, i am a human male working toward bounty hunter, right now i am raising my marksman and scout skills.

1. I was wondering what everyone suggest i wear for armor, i am still a little confused by the encumberance stats, i want to get the best armor i can, i was looking at the composite and marine armor types, can i wear this armor ? which would be the better choice ? and should i wear full sets of armor ? or mix n match with some clothing ? or if those are not good armor sets for me, what would you recommend?

2. i am a little confused on player housing, if i buy a housing deed, can i place the house anywhere on the planet i want or do i need to belong to a player city ?

any other tips or advice for me would be great

thanks

Armor is a matter of choice and playing style. Plenty of players use Ubese,or like myself, just wear a few pieces of Composite. I prefer lower encumberance, while others prefer higher resists; they don't care about the encumberance because they wear it while buffed. If you don't have a lot of creds, then maybe try Ubese for now. Really good composite sets can be expensive. I wear a BE shirt and pants, Composite boots, gloves, and chestplate. It seems to do all right for me with most things..buffed, of course.

As far as houses, you can place a house anywhere you wish, prividing the area is flat enough and ther eare no obstacles such as lairs, other houses, or harvesters. You don't have to be in a city to place a house. You just have to have a good location, the creds for maintenance, and the available lots.

If you go to the following forum thread and scroll down to houses, you'll find out way more than you ever wanted to know:

This thread gives you a ton of information on the different armor types:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=armorsmith&message.id=42983

Just to add some additional information, whatever armor you decide to go with, you only need to wear 4 pieces to protect yourself: Helmet, Gloves, Boots, and Chest. If you go that route, you'll want to buy yourself a pair of pants and a nice shirt to wear with your armor, otherwise your arms will be bare, and you'll be running around in your tidy whities

If you get armor with a high encumberance to your stats, you'll probably need to get yourself a buff from a Doctor before you can put all of the pieces on. Once you have your armor on, it will stay on even when your buffs are gone. Just keep in mind that you'll probably need buffs to fight effectively, if you wear armor with a high encumberance.

I wear just the four pieces also, with a BE shirt and pants. If you wear high encumberence armor, and you need to get buffed to wear it, don't take it off or you will have to get buffed to put it back on. That's why I like low encumberence. And yeah, using specials unbuffed is a bad idea..

Just a little note, if you're wearing armor with high encumberance, espicially composite, and you aren't buffed, DON'T do specials. You'll find in probably less than 3 specials you will have dropped your health and action to nothing.

Another thing is to get your armour sliced by a smuggler, that will give up to either a 30% reduction in encumberance or increase in effectiveness. hope for encumberance.

Also... if you have novice brawler, intimidate is your friend, it reduces the damage from a mob by 66% until it wears off. Also grab yourself some +17 intimidation trousers.
