Hello,
I am concerned with the effect that the change to mind buffs will have on surveying. I currently get a mind buff or use brandy to allow me to survey large areas without any down time. It is already getting dificult to find high quality locations on some planets due to urban sprawl. Ifthey also force me to stop surveying to regain my mind pool, this will change an already time consuming necessity into something that may be unbearable.

i dunno .. its a good question to throw out there... and why i was hoping the "teams" for crafting profs would be actively enganged at this point.. surveying, had sampling, dance flourishes, etc. etc. etc. all have to "work" with the change to health vs. special pools

As I understand it, there will still be 'mind' and 'action' pools for specials, And there will still be 'pool' buffing as well, spice, food, doctor, etc.
I don't think that the HAM changes will have a significant impact on surveying/sampling, However, rest assured that the CU Artisan team will test that when the sandbox opens.

I use one brandy and the occaisional canape when surveying right now. I wear full comp 24/7 on my crafter since he gets attacked by EVERYTHING while surveying and loading factories. I do realize this limits my mind pool, which is why my crafting toon is such a lush. I am just glad the canape isn't fattening...
I think the CU will completely mess up the game for months... but that is another story...

I disagree:
"I don't think that the HAM changes will have a significant impact on surveying/sampling..."
If they fundamentally change the HAM, which it sounds like they have to, they have to fundamentally alter the way buffs are made and utilized. Apparently, other changes pertaining to the HAM will also complicate this whole process. What does this presumably mean?
All these new items (stims, buffs, resist packs) will have new ingredient lists and may or may not require items we've spent hundreds of hours searching for and mining. All the credits and power we've dumped into harvesters for items which may be trinkets and souvenirs when the new changes occur.
This could be brutal to us...
Personally I've spent hundreds of hours looking for 900+ quality components for buffpacks and now face the prospect of not being able to use all these great resources I've found. It would be a horrible way to reward our participation in SWGs economy should they do this inconsiderately. I'll be upset.
