Thread: PLEASE! Fix maintenance cost on vendors
The vendor maintenance cost is crazy. I put about 10 powerup crates @ 2500 cr a piece, my maintenance cost on my vendor (basic one) sky rockets to 150 credits an HOUR!!
This is either a bug or some very funny way of allowing artisans to sell stuff on their own.
It's not a bug. Maintenance is determined from the price of the objects you have listed.
This is "working as intended." I think it's insane but that's just me.
Yes it intentional - its designed to make you progress to merchant if you are serious about running a vendor (added bonus the Merchant vendors are currently bugged at a maint rate of 1cr regardless of whats in them - cash in while you can)

Do you eventually get where there is no cost on the vendors, in the mechant tree I mean. Or is it just reduced. Like instead of 150cr per hour its only 100 per hour?

** warining: flaming ahead **
Honestly, I've looked at the merchant tree and I don't this the profession is really worth the skill points. What skills do I really gain by being a merchant, let's look quickly:
Advertising line: Unless the vendor barks over 7 miles away, I think this skill is useless. Who actualy entered a shop in the middle of nowhere because an NPC said : "Hey, you look naked, come buy my nice shirt". I would also be very interested in seeing how many people look for shops on the world map (or actualy know they can find some vendors on the world map)
Effeciency: A whole line dedicated to reducing costs of operation. This to me says: we lacked imagination on what to put there. Cost could easily been in line with Management . ex; Management 1 = +1 vendor and +1 effenciency. That would leave open a new line (Commerce construction: cantina, tent, armor shop, weapon shop, shopping malls, etc)
Hiring: Another thing that could have been put in Management. This skill line also lacks imagination. Maybe some more content could be added here
Management: if the line was a mix of effenciency, hiring and management, it would be worth the skill points. As is it now, it only allows 1 extra vendor per level ... 1!! An architect with those same skills points can build any house in the game. A merchant gets 4 vendors. wow..
Honestly, jacking up my little vendor terminal maintenance in the middle of nowhere just to force me to spend loads of precious skill points in a pointless profession (as it stands now) is ridiculous. Yes I am serious about having a vendor aspect to my character but at least give me a decent profession to work with.
I'm sorry if this offended the merchants of this game.
