Thread: Looping Macro
Suikio, your post doesn't make any sense. What are you trying to say?
I "heard" from someone they now deamed the survey macro's as an exploit, can anyone verify this?
Eniha
Back during beta testing, there was a post showing a way to make a sampling macro that would sample for so long, stop and rest for so long, then start all over again. Being the big dummy that I am, I didn't save the page, but just book marked it, now the beta fourms are no longer, I can't seam to get the macro down right. Last I heard, it wasn't deamed an exploit, or a bug to be able to do this, but that could of changed.
Anyway, here is what I thought the line went, if anyone can correct me, or inform me that the powers decided that looping macro's are no longer allowed that would help me out a lot.
I would create a text file with the name "macro.txt" in my SWG folder that would have a single line like this
/mac1; /stand; /pause 2; /sample; /pause 240; /sit; /pause 240; /mac1;
Then from within the game I would type;
/load macro.txt
SWG would come back with a message saying that alais made, or somethintg like that, then I would invoke the macro with this command;
/mac1
When I use that format in the game now, I get a error message saying that there is no mood, chat, or emote with that name.
Anyone help me out??

There is a way of doing it, and the only way to stop it is to log out. Right now I have my char mining day in and day out.
Push 1 button and it mines for about 9 hours
I have an allias that last fora long time, but I do get disconnected after a while. How do I avoid this?
SirCrazy,
Your only mistake was /mac1; in the text file should be mac1: by using the / (slash) mac1; (semicolon) the system thinks you are trying to issue a known command. Since there is no /mac1 command it gives you the error.
By putting mac1: (with a colon) the system then sets whatever comes after it as the alias.
So do it like that, then /load c:\macro.txt then when you use /mac1 it will recognize it, but that will not loop it.
If you make something that looks like
mac1: blah blah blah commands /mac2;
mac2: blah blah blah commands /mac3;
And so on it will run for a longer period of time, however do not use mac10 for some reason it doesnt like that.
Instead use letters ie. maca etc.
There was a post on this method somewhere in the forums i just dont remember where, or by whom. And Im too lazy to do a search.
Well as far as I can find out, sampling survey's can still be done, but what I listed in my first post doesn't seam to be working. What you have to do is to put each command on a seperate line with a semi colon after each command. Just use the commands to sample, pause, sit, etc, don't use the /mac1 that I show. That will just mess ya up.
