I was just thinking about what the experimented durability actually means for vehicles. I thought I had is that it doesn't really make much difference.

Vehicles decay at a steady rate regardless of experiemented durability.

All vehicles of a given type cost the same to repair per point of daamge.

So the actual running costs are always the same per hour and are not affected by the experimenetd durability.

The only thing that a high durability gives you is a longer interval between repairs, it doen't alter the cost. Since an evening running about in my Landspeeder seemed to lose less than 10% of its health I really don't see what the big fuss about the durabilty is (it's a fairly poor example at 72% experimentation) Having a high durability vehicle doesn't really give you anything.

If it affected the running costs that would be a different thing altogher...

If I am out in the boonies I don;t want to have to worry about finding a garage for repairs. More HP=longer time out.

A 70% vehicle can go about 8 hours without repairs. A 99% vehicle can go about 9.5 hours without repairs. If you repair at 50% of HAM then the 70% vehicle gives you around 4 hours and the 99% vehicle gives you right around 5 hours. Don't know that that's enough to pay a huge premium.
