I had to explain to a customer the difference between the speederbike and the AVV Zephyr because my initial deeds were made before I actually undeeded one myself....

Could have saved a lot of tiem if I'd have known that before....

Right now, I have just used the naming scheme to tag a vehicle for specific customers. Even though it will not deed with that name on it, at least it does mark the deed for a specific person in your inventory or on a vendor.
This also insures that whatever I name the vehicles, the customer will not be disappointed with the name, since it is static at this time.

Name them something like (character)'s Junior Tricycle, put it on your vendor and watch them laugh hysterically while they shudder that they are stuck with a Tricycle instead of a Racer or Speeder bike.

I seen someone walking around selling vehicals with custom names if you wanted one. I tried making a vehical with a custom name. Created a name during the crafting stage. The deed had that name but when I generated the vehical it had the defult name. Is there a way to customise the name of the vehicals you craft or not. If so then that guy really screwed some people over!

You are correct there is no way to name the vehicles at this time. Check the Dev Tracker, they have responded to this. they will look into naming of vehicles but initial examination shows this in non-trivial.

I get the impression the game mechanics are not the same as pets. Pets get named via a complex pet order system so it may not be easy to isolate the code for vehicles and that means custom code for a vehicle naming system.
