Thread: My day selling vehicles no gouging and no undercutting

I sold a relatively small amount of vehicles today. Didn't undercut the artisans who were trying to sell at less than 2cpu, just logged and played with my BH (bought a nasty krayt laser carbine today - 6000 damage crippling shots before AP2 is factored in - yum). Charged a steady 6-7cpu while my good material held out. When I made my first speederbike with a HAM below 2K I tipped the guy back 10K and sold the remainder at 4-5cpu. Not a bad day. My crafter is not rich by any means, but I now have enough cash not to have to worry about harvester maintenance and buying hides.

Just thought I'd share.

I also charged 6cpu, but saw many many people going to the 4cpu and 2.5cpu range.

I did auction off one 94% speeder and am supposedly getting 1.5 million for it, but the buyer hasn't logged on or contacted me.

Selling for 15K is just as silly as selling for 1.4 million. The materials I used sell for 4-5 cpu, and to risk a crit fail and sell them for just over 2 cpu is foolish.

I'm a Master DE, as well as a Master Artisan (I kind of have to be to support my DE side lol) but I sold some vehicles today for 7 credits per unit, using my good resources. Did around 250k today... not bad for a days work

Hey... what's wrong with selling your BEST vehicle made with the BEST resources (or close to it) to the highest bidder?

I don't know ! Please don't hit me on the head...

Congrats on the 94% !

Now as for me, one guy preordered a swoop for 100K and did tip me a 50K bonus because I delivered on time (didn't have my say on it I promised). Another preordered a speeder for 60K and tipped me 5K more... Otherwise my prices were a calculation based on success % ! Didin't sell a lot of vehicles (maybe like 5 on top of the two previous) but then I made over 400K on 7 seven vehicles sold. (my prices were from 35K for a 59% X34 to 68K for a 88% Swoop).

For the people of the city I live in I kept the vendor mails and will refund 25% of what they paid as the prices in my vendor were a little high to prevent resellers emptying the vendor to go sell in front of Theed Starport...

Now for the following days I'll cut my price a little lower each day until we reach a normal price over the server. Thing is I didn't have a lot of steel or iron and crafted more for my friends then what I put in my vendor in the first place. Also I exchanged 4 vehicle deeds against 2 crystals (still have to deliver 2 more deeds).

Conclusion : I made money, made some people happy, still have things to sell in my vendor... So overall it's been a very good 1st day ! (75K resources used on what I sold or exchanged ended up as more than 400K and2 crystals)

Just like to share day 1 here, also. I feel I did pretty good. All of my Speeders were success of either 56%, 70% and (mostly)96%. I started selling for 10cr/u... didn't do so well... I only sold 3 bikes(2 from a vendor not listed on the planetary map ). Once everything died down and the artisans started logging for the night I went back to selling, except at 8cr/u for the 96% and 7cr/u for anything less. That's when I started making the money. After everything was said and done... I received about 900k in sales.... and I still have inventory to sell

I sell my vehicles on a sliding scale of 4K, 5K and 6K for X34, Speeder and Swoop (respectively). Supply your own resources and you get it half price.

I don't really see the point of charging 10 times those amounts (which i saw people do). I'm not trying to "undercut" the other artisans, but can you honestly think first-week players will be able to afford that? I can't even afford that.

If people come into this game and see that all the cool wee things (mounts/pets/vehicles) cost upwards of 30,000 credits, they won't stay long (unless they have friends in-game that can supply them).

lol... I can't help but laugh... Sorry.

Do you have no bearing on the time and cost it takes to get the resources? I purchased med extractors that are pumping out at a rate of 7.5 for my ferrous. It cost me 50k for each harvester. I figure that to break even, the 1st 20k materials(for each harvester)should becalculated as3 cr/unit(the going grinding rate for resources). After that it will cost approx .35 cr/unit to mine.

Going by your rate (going by swoop) of .75 cr/unit... take the initial .35 to mine... and you are onlygetting .4 cr/unit. In order to pay for that 50k cr harvestor, the 1st 125k units goes straight towards that initial harvester cost. Then you have to figure in the amount of time it takes you to get those 125k resources from that 1 harvester. At 7.5 kg/hr... you get 450 units per hour of real time. So to break even and start making your profit of .4 cr/unit... it will take you approx 11 1/2 days of selling your speeders.

You, my friend, are either not serious about selling speeders... oryou're making things WAY too difficult for yourself. I'm inclined to believe the former...

The signature attached to this post here is pretty ironic. I think the poster needs a drink from that "Fountain of Smart".
