Thread: Vehicles, and why lowballers will actually help
You all do realize that vehicles are subject to decay and destruction right? These things you want to charge 100+K for can be easily destroyed by driving too close to a tusken. If I shelled out 100k for something, only to have it utterly destroyed 15 minutes later, chances are I'm not going to run back and drop another 100k. If I just paid 20k for something and the same thing happened, I'll probably go back and get another one, but be more carefull next time. CH's charged high sure, but it was a one time sale. Mounts are not generally used for combat, and who cares how bad thier vitality gets, just so long as they get from point A to point B. Vehicles on the other hand... I've already sold someone a third one, because the other two were destroyed.
Vehicles are fun, but at the same time as they are now very fragile. NPC mobs targeting vehicles, owner neglect, and GCW will keep these things in constant demand.
So sell your stuff at 10-20:1, but when your customers new toy breaks, chances are they're not gonna come back to you looking to get taken again, they'll spend thier money at the reasonable artisans shops.
And the argument about high quality vehicles. The difference between a 60% vehicle and a 99% vehicle is maybe a few hours driving time. With an NPC or PCattacking it, its the difference in a few seconds. Again, sounds good at first, but IMO, not worth the extra cost. I canget a personal one made however I want, and I doubt I'll ever use more than 900SR material even on personal vehicles, anything higher could go to armor or architects. Would I sell vehicles less than 60%? no, more than 90% no to that one too.
So far I've made over 4mil since patch, selling vehicles at reasonable 3.3:1 pricing, that means I've made a lot of players happy.
