I guess this has been up before, but I havn't read it anywhere.

We have had chats about the speeders being disabled by like one or two shots sometimes and people get pissed about that. I might not be the first to come up with this idea, but I would like to hear what people say.

What do people say?

If you mean to repair the vehicle, then these would make garages obsolete (well pretty much obsolete now until they fix the starport thing).

If you mean to repair a disabled bike (once the starport thing is fixed) then this would affect repeat sales of vehicles, so we need to ask whether we would prefer repeat custom from people who got their bikes disabled or whether we would rather be able to fix them instead.

Depending on how it would work, I'm inclined at the moment to say I'd go with I'd rather sell another vehicle.

I saw a thread once before about vehicle repairs and someone had a good idea. We could have vehicle repair kits that would repair our vehicles up to a certain point, but for full repairs, you would need a garage. It's kind of like tinkering on your car, you can change your own oil and do some simple repairs, but if your transmission is shot, you probably don't have the tools to fix that sort of thing on your own.

This method would allow some player fixes, but still leave some need for garages. But seeing how garages were created as money sinks, this probably wouldn't happen.

Ok, either only artists can use the tool or all.

Secondly you need to be with in the range of a garage to use it and it will only give your speeder a small amount of HP back, so you will need to repair it after that.

Now it will then all depend on if artist make the tools or the charge of the tool used by them to expensive so it would be cheaper to buy a new speeder.

The tool is only for disabled speeders also.

Having been on Dath this weekend battling nightsisters, I can say it is a pain in the *ss to have BOTH your bikes incapped by force lightning and being 2k away from a city with 0 terrain negotiation (Dath is very hilly with lots of predators!).
Maybe there could be a general repair kit (like a spare tire) that would make the vehicle usable until you come inside a city limit. That way if you get stranded somewhere you could still limp back and would have to get a new ride.
