Hi

I wanna be a master architect and build stuff for my guild

The problem is that i dont know much about artisan professions cause i have mostly done combat professions so plz help me out.

I have read that you can make gungan heads to speed up the craft-process but i need loads of resources.

What would it take to get the resoruces (i think its about 600k low-grade ore and some gemstone) fast and what energy supplys do i need to be able to be selfsufficient? Money is not a big problem but i would like the best/fastest setup for the lowest amount of money

Thx in advance

If you're starting out in the artisan profession and you've got a fair bit of money behind you, go on the bazaar and get some crafting tools and survey devices. Then you'll want to go and grab a few medium/heavy mineral harvester, and wind turbine deeds(assuming you have the money to buy em). If you don't then just grab some personal harvesters of the bazaar, they're usually between 500 and 5000 credits on radiant for a BER 3.

Once you have these things survey for some decent mineral concentrations (70% or over) and then sample them, examine the resource to assess its quality. If you're happy with it place your turbine and wait for it to build up a few hundred units of power. Spread this power over your harvesters and set them extracting the mineral you want. Make sure all your structures have a decent level of maintainance (generators included), and that once your generator's got enough power you dole it out, the last thing you want is for you to go away for a few days, come back and realise that a harvester ran out of power and or maintainance half a day after you were last on and find it needs repairing AND hasn't mined anything.

Okay, so you've got your minerals and crafting tools. Up until engineering 3 (on the artisan tree) you should be crafting survey tools; out of everything you can craft before engineering 3, these give the most experience. You can either do it in practice mode or sell them on the bazaar to try and recoup some costs. Once you've got engineering 3 you'll be able to craft personal harvesters and generators yourself, so stick with crafting these as they provide around 300 crafting xp per deed. You'll be crafting these all the way up until you've got novice architect, start creating structural modules or small houses until you get your first level. Take construction one and craft gungan statue heads as you said, they're worth 5k architect xp each, so you see where thats going

Keep grinding statue heads till you've got what you want as far as I'm aware thats the simplest method of grinding architect.

BTW you can use fusions if you can afford them, their max BER is I think 14, with a maximum of 9 for wind turbines.

Try putting enough money and power into harvesters and generators to last you about a week so you don't have to constantly check up on them to make sure they're in good condition.

Of course, you could always buy your resources, gungan statue heads are about 2000 ore and 1000 gemstones, so you can work out how much you'll need quite easily.

Hope that helps

Thx alot for your reply.

Then im gonna get me some medium/heavy harvesters and wind turbine deeds. But how many do i need of each? i Use only 2 lots atm. Can 1 wind turbine supply enough power to supply 2 harvesters or how is it?

If you really want to do it the fastest way possible and money isn't a problem. Buy the resources and grind away.

How many you use depends on what you want to make etc etc etc. If you're using personal harvesters, I started off with two mineral harvesters, on chemical harvester and 2 wind power generators on tattooine. I found a rich none ferrous deposit, around 90% in copper, and within a week or two ( I had one BER 3 and one BER 4) I had around 25k copper. With regard to wind power generators I'd say you can easily run at least two harvesters with just one, as I'm currently running 2 personalmineral harvesters, 2 medium mineral harvesters, and one personal checmical harvester on two wind generators (9 BER) with relatively low wind availability (only about 20%).

I don't know what the power requirements for heavy harvesters are, but I know that medium harvesters have the same power and maintainance requirements as personal harvesters.

One note, be prepared to find new resources every week or two, mineral concentrations move every few weeks. You might find a steel deposit of 95% with an overall quality of 988, but its only gonna be there for a few weeks. http://www.swgcraft.com/is your friend .

If you only have 2 lots, and money isn't an issue, I'd buy your power, and use both lots for other harvestors. Power can usualy be bought for less CPU than good minerals, and you'll need far more ore than power.

PLEASE! Don't spread false information. If you don't know for sure, either research it or don't say it.

  • Personal Harvesters take 30c/hr and 25 power per hour to operate

  • Medium Harvestrers are 60c and 50p

  • Heavy Harvesters are 90c and 75p

  • Power Generators (Wind, Solar and Fusion) are all 60c/hr to operate

Redeed Costs

  • Personal Harvesters = 1500c

  • Medium Harvesters = 3000c

  • Heavy Harvesters = 4500c

  • Power Generators = 3000c

I like to use reactive instead of wind for power. If you can find a nice radioactive with High potential energy it lasts longer. For example if it has a PE of 1000 each unit of radioactive material counts as two units of power. If I mine 10k units I wouls actually have 20k units of power. I find it is usually cheeper and I can get away with only one structure as a power generation source.
