Thread: So what's the Real Deal, Guru.
Our needs/opinions are being heard, however, due to the Jump to Lightspeed, Jedi revamp, Combat rebalance, any changes made for us or our crafting elite bretheren aren't going to happen until after the combat rebalance. It just isn't any higher in the priorities. From their perspective (I'm guessing here, no-one said this to me in so many words), since we aren't actually broken, just needing enhancement, we are not as 'hot' as some other profs.
Will making more noise help? Probably not. If enough _Quality_ noise is made, maybe. Sqeaky wheel and all that, but I cannot really endorse that.
As for who the crafting (Artisan) dev is, I have no idea. As far as I can tell, the majority of the devs are either doing Jedi or JTL work. I've got a question outstanding on that very issue. I'll let y'all know when I get an answer.
On the one hand, I am getting feedback that says that our issues are being heard and discussed. Ont he other hand, I have yet to hear if any of our suggestions/problems have been accepted for fixing and, if so, when we could expect to see them in Live.
Take care,
we should get all our issues pushed out about this publish as we have the best chance of getting those issues resolved.
Publish 10 will have
do we have any issues to deal with that?
The end of august is
This is why the Top 5 is what they are looking at. This is where we'll get out those issues looked at. if there are any major issues we need to make sure they are in our top 5.
and then in september is the
First Phase of Galactic Civil War revamp (ground based)
this is my personal issue in that i would really like to see non combatants play a much larger role in the GCW..

Do you have any proof that our needs/opinions are being heard? If you don't even know who our Dev. is, how can you be sure that our issues are even getting by TH to him/her? TH told me that our issues were being heard/addressed too, so why is it that none of our issues have, considering it has been nearly 7 months since I sat in your seat with those same assurances.

I'm not asking for an endorsement.

If it's still RThornton, I'm sure it's JTL - he worked on a space combat game before coming to SWG. Lets see how long it takes for this answer, lol.

I think TH is our problem. He obviously (in my experience) has zero interest in either Crafting, or the Economy - unless it is gating combat in some way. I'd suggest you send RThornton some PMs, and see if you can get a dialogue going with him.
Take care,

But bianca.. you're advocating more aggressive corresponding yes? That sounds to me like what Wepps was doing. And I'll point to the BH forums where they're still gimped compared to FOTM combo's, they still spend way more skill points then they should for what they get, bounty missions are still borked, jedi missions are borked again, llc still can't hit the broad side of a barn, ect ,ect. And Wepps has ended up banned from the forums.
As someone who had access to the Correspondent forum during the 'Wepps administration' I am not suprised that he was banned. I am a firm believer that a debate can be very aggressive, without resorting to namecalling, cursing, and misrepresentation of the truth. Enough said.
Aggressive or passive, the correspondent system is set up so the devs can pretend to listen to us all while ignoring just 32 people instead of thousands at once. Not to actually achieve anything.
My biggest gripe as Correspondent wasn't that everyone was ignored, but that everything non-combat, non-jedi was ignored (except for Player cities related items and vehicles during their implementation).
I have also witnessed moments of brilliance from the Devs, where one of them would poke their head into the discussion, say wow I didn't know that was going on, and it would be fixed the next publish. I think the amount of dev time we get has more to do with TH's interest in Artisans, than it does with the amount of dev time it would take to get something done.
