Lo people, just mastered artisan .. didn't really take it up as a profession i thought I'd like. Most of the crafting experience i got from making small things alot of the time, though the period i became aware to whats needed and whats not for good quality items, anyway enough about me, my question is generally about resources. As master now i can make swoops and speeders, so i invested in a crafting station, and 2 BER 10 Installations, all i wanna know is what's a good quality resource and whats not? i set up two mineral installations tonight to start getting some material, but heres the problem i dunno if it's good or not, due to lack of knowledge and experience basically, so i took a screen shot.

From what u can see is what I'm getting / doing atm.. I surveyed, for a type steel then sampled it till i found a decent overall rating, i believe over 900 is? then i surveyed forthe highest resource % i could find ..couldn't get over 85% noideawhy, luckilytho it was flat land, and lastly in screen shot i added the box that showsallthe quality's of what I'm actually mining atm.(Question - whys there only certain types of steel available to me?)

So will that steel be good en ought for bike's/speeders? also what CPU does stuff like that go for, i appreciate all help and responses, and if I'm doing something wrong please point it out.

ok, lots of issues.

first when you open the crafting tool to create something, look on the right hand side and it will tell you what the experimental qualities are. for swoops i think its shock resistance, so a swoop made from that steel isnt going to be very good as its SR is only 558, the overall quality makes no difference.

Second, the % spots you can find vary, i think for low grade ore you would be very lucky to find a 70% spot but for steel 85% isnt bad, i've seen higher.

Third, the resources shift from time to time. there is a shift each day, what happens is that a few resources will dissappear and a few new ones will appear. this isnt like for like, so for example 1 steel, 1 copper and 2 aluminium may vanish and be replaced with 2 steel, 1 radioactive and 1 solid petrochem fuel, or whatever. once a resource has gone its gone for good, by that i mean the resource name "Doewe", Kiirium steel will come again but will have a new name and new stats

Lastly, the value will depend on who's buying, each profession generally looks for different stats and you may want to ask armorsmiths, weaponsmiths etc. what stats they look for.

Hope that helps

The maximum a value can be is 1000, but as the above poster directed you, certain materials are "gated" so they tend to have maximum and minimums.
