Thread: Query about Control units

Only recently I mastered artisan and have a query with regards to making Control devices and other Droid engineer components. I realise that there are areas which you can experiment on but after looking at some of the products made by other artisans on my server I can any mods on the item. Is it like the survey devices where experimentation doesn't realy make a big diffrence in the final product or are the mods hidden or something?

My opinion -- short answer -- we don't know.
What I base that on:
In some combines -- like droids -- the final product does not seem to be related at all to the quality of the control units (or micro sensor suites, or ...). Customer's vary on their reports of results.
In some combines --like crafting stations-- just the presence of the unit makes a difference and there is some evidence that the quality of the sub-component will change the value of some characteristic of the final product.
Since the number of units you have to make to test the impact is large and controling the circumstances of the test is difficult -- good information is hard to come by.

Control Unit quality for Weapons does not appear to matter.
Control Unit quality for Crafting Stations make a huge difference...Can affect the final rating by as much as 5 points. Ditto on the other Artisan Items and Storage Compartments needed for Crafting Stations.

High quality Control Units with high experimentation values are essential to making crafting stations. If you want a station higher than 20, you have to have your sub components experimented out to 80% or higher.
