Hi, Yapazari here. Figured I'd post some things for other newbies like myself, something that had me wondering until I figured it out. May save you a little time, or just direct you to the right place to look for your own benefit. The thread will deal with the types of mineral-stats most effective for early crafting. Here is my list so far:
Survey Tools:
Solar: Conductivity
Chemical: Conductivity
Flora: Conductivity
Gas: Conductivity
Mineral: Conductivity
Water: Conductivity
Wind: Conductivity
(So to make better survey tools go for conductivity. Though Im not really sure what the better tools do, they all seem to work more or less the same unless Im missing something. But better safe then sorry.)
Crafting Tools:
Generic: Conductivity
Food and Clothing: Conductivity
Weapons/Droid/Generic: Conductivity
Structure and Furniture: Conductivity
Clothing and Armor: Conductivity
(So for better crafting tools go for conductivity. I also try to just go for overall quality when in doubt or in lack of conductive minerals. Most people don't read this little blurb when making them and go JUST for high-quality. I don't have enough experience to know if this is bad or not, butI doubt it would say conductivity unless it was to make them better.)
Weapons:
CDEF Pistol: 50% Quality, 50% Conductivity
CDEF Rifle: 50% Quality, 50% Conductivity
CDEF Carbine: 50% Quality, 50% Conductivity
Wood Staff: Shock Resistance
Reinforced Staff: Shock Resistance
Survival Knife: Shock Resistance
Dagger: Shock Resistance
Heavy Axe: Shock Resistance
(Melee weapons should be shock-resistant, pistols need a mix of conductivity and quality.)
Miscellaneous:
Droid Battery: Conductivity
Weapon Powerups: Quality
(You get it.)
Installations:
Personal Mineral Extractor:(Extraction Rate) 25% Heat Resistance, 25% Shock Resistance, 50% Unit Toughness
Personal Wind Generator: (Extraction Rate) 25% Heat Resistance, 25% Shock Resistance, 50% Unit Toughness
(This gets a bit trickier. But with the large variety of minerals nesscessary to make each of these, you have a better chance of choosing what and which types will be going in. Like it takes four or five different things depending on what you have, giving you the opprotunity to make it better.)
That's all I have for now.
Hope that helps.

Yes nice post but hehehe plz don't put up the rest, I mean everyone needs to find out for themselfs... other wise everyone willbe making good stuff
but the starter stuff is a good idea, and gives newbies a point in the right direction, well done to you for this.

actually, i'd like to see the rest. the crafting biz is a bear for new players.
I actively avoided crafting because I didn't want to learn all the details was overwhelmed by the details.
Starting players try to make stuff, but then it turns out like bantha poodoo and they come here to find out how to make it better.
PS: i'm a master artisan who really doesn't make anything. Except a speeder now and then and that's just for convenience.
