hey

i have a problem - when i triedsampling for steel, my surveying tool didn't show Steel.

I'm level 3 engineer and level 2 surveyor...

i tried making a new mineral surveying tool - still doesn't show anything....

is there something i'm doing wrong?

Resources shift in and out on a semi-random basis. It sounds like at this particular time, there is no steel "in spawn" on the planet where you're surveying.

You can check other planets, since shifts occur independently on each. You can also wait a bit for a new type of steel to shift in.

Survey skill and tool quality have no effect on what you see in the tool. If you can survey at all, your tool will show everything available on the current planet. If you don't see something, that just means that it's not there right now.
