I agree, experimentation points should accumulate for a crafter based on the amount of previous experimentation they do and the overall quality of products they put out. Not moving some branch of the tree that provides no other benefit. As it is you accumulate experimentation points for grinding, plain and simple. Just jump to any of the individual specialties and read through their forums.

This is more true with the advanced crafting classes, but should also be in the artisan class IMO

In all the advanced classes there is a branch in the skill tree for increasing experimentation, achieving advancment in this branch uses the same xp as all the other branches, even if you never experiment. Also because you don't get any new schematics for taking this branch it is also normally not taken until you have a decent schematic to experiment on. This is wrong. In the artisan class you automatically get experimentation skills even if you never experiment automatically when you get your new schematics. This is also wrong. Both the artisan and advanced classes should have experimentation branches, and both these should require experimentation xp, different to crafting xp, that you get only when you experiment. Then you could be tranversing both trees at once, and the rate at which you transverse the experimentation branch depends entirely upon the amount of experimentation that you do.

Does anyone else think this is a good idea? Does anyone think it is bad? And try to give arguments to support your views.

Thank you
