Hmm, im at the max level for surveying and i cant get a sample of water wilst STANDING in it? When i do, im able to get 4 units max......... WOW THAT MAKES SOOO MUCH SENSE.

I understand the concept behind the random resources system but they REALLY ought to create a system where players can obtain resources in a sensible manner. The current system is beyond ridiculous.

The water you are standing in is the wrong "type" of water you are surveying for.

All along while i was standing in WATER, i was trying to sample WATER when i should have been attempting to sample WATER!

SHUCKS!!!

Just think of it this way, the water you're standing in isn't suitable for products. Like trying to drink salt water.

Plus you're supposed to be collecting water vapor; not salt water from the oceans

Hmm I play on Tatooine so I might be missing something but

I thought you could only sample water located using the water survey tool, and not just stroll up to any body of water you find and sample away?

The only thing I can suggest is to survey first and see if you _are_ actually on top of a water supply.

You can only sample water located using the survey tool, this guy is just being an ass and asking why you can't sample water directly from the water. Other people have already pointed out what's wrong with his argument so I won't bother.

You assume it's water. How do you know it's not a river of ronto pee? On Venus it rains pure sulpheric acid.

I love kneeling and digging in the ground to search for water vapor..

On a similar note, can someone explain to me why there's different kinds of wind?

I mean, come on. I don't care if the atmosphere is different, wind is wind. It makes the generator turn. I've even seen 2 kinds of wind on the same planet!

Sure you can respond by saying "Don't you know how to play the game? You have to survey for water and find a decent percentage of it to sample water!" That's fine - that is how the game is played.

Then again you could also point out the illogical notion that you can be next to a river emptying out into a large lake or possibly an ocean and you can't seem to find any water vapor around. Also water vapor seems just as easily found on Tatooine as on other planets.

This is how the game works - this is a logical understanding of how the real world works - these two folks don't know each other, they are complete strangers!
